Hi! Debating between the small lady dior my ABCDior bag or the medium lady d-joy. I like the personalization with the charms on the ABCDior and it’s a classic bag. I feel like the d-joy can be worn more casually and it’s nice that it comes with different straps. Do you think the d-joy will also be a classic bag or will it go out of style? Is one bag easier to wear than the other?

Unpopular opinion — I chose the small d-joy over the lady dior. To me, the shape is much more practical (it can actually fit more because you don’t have to start stacking so many things on top of each other to accommodate the square shape). I also really love how versatile it is. With the lady dior, you are limited to top handle and crossbody, but the lady d-joy offers a shoulder option in addition.

How much can you fit in the small d-joy? Did you also consider the medium d-joy?

The medium was actually the first size I considered! I originally wanted the extra space. However, I’m a very petite person, so the small just suited my frame much better. The small fits my phone, cardholder, keyholder, car keys, and a lipstick. The medium definitely has a bit more space, but I liked the small’s proportions better, personally.

I see. I’m also petite but think I need the extra space to hold all my essentials. I’ll have to try and get to a boutique to see the bags in person.

I was set on a small or mini lady Dior but when I went into the store, I fell in love instantly with the medium lady d-joy in taupe. You should try both bags on if you can. The square shape of the lady Dior was very tough for me to pull off and the rectangular lady d-joy was much more flattering. Popular opinion seems to be that the d-joy won’t be a long-standing classic the way the lady Dior is, but at that price point I would invest in something that flatters and looks good on me. Both bags have the same workmanship and will last equally long in your closet. Full disclosure, the d-joy doesn’t fit much but it’s too dressy to be an everyday bag for me so that’s fine. I only bring my essentials (phone, cards, keys, makeup I need for touch ups).

Warm taupe is the color I’m looking to get :loveeyes: Do you know if the small d-joy also comes in warm taupe? Agree, get what you love and what looks good on you, especially for how pricy they are. It’s unlikely the d-joy will reach iconic/classic level of the original lady dior but I think it’s versatile and popular enough that it’ll remain a staple? But who knows haha.

Sorry, I don’t know if the small lady Dior comes in warm taupe! If you leave a message on your local website or call the nearest store they should be able to tell you?

Even if the d-joy never becomes a staple for the world, for me it will have been a very lucky release of a version of a classic that worked out better for my proportions! It’s unmistakable as a version of the lady Dior so that classic element will always be there.

I am having the same problem but tossing up between small Lady Dior and small Djoy. I already have a mini lady dior though.

I hate the thick strap on the ABC dior and those badges. I know i won't use it. I love the straps on Djoy but i just don't think esstwest bags last. I know i will regret Djoy in about 5 years time when the trend is dead.

I really like the rectangular shape of the D-Joy. I would personally probably get that one over the regular Lady Dior because:
1. You don't have to stack stuff as deep as in the lady;
2. It is probably more flattering to many bodies because the boxy shape of the lady is harder to wear for many;
3. It is super cute and more visually appealing on it's own (imo) as opposed to the boxy shape of the lady;
4. More strap options makes it easier to carry and more versatile with different outfits; and
5. I don't care about trends and would happily wear it as long as I still liked it.

Whether it will eventually be considered a fad, no one can know of course. I can't imagine why it would though. It just seems like a different size option of the Lady Dior rather than a totally different style, so I don't know why it would ever be "out" of style. If you think that one will work better for you and you don't care too much about trends, then get it.

If you are very sensitive to trends though and would be uncomfortable wearing/using the bag if it did ever go out of style, then just get the regular lady. No point in getting something that you will be worried about not being able to use, particularly at these price points.
