Hello!

i am going on a domestic flight leaving LAX. Anyone have experience with the small LOVE going through security and taking the screwdriver in the personal item bag? Most threads discuss the regular LOVE. Any current experiences? I’m worried if I put the Love in my personal bag that someone could grab it when it comes through the X-ray machine. Thanks in advance for your feedback :)

It depends on the sensitivity of the metal detectors at the airport. If you're going through the full body scanner, you're fine but the metal detector could set it off. I went through Kauai airport's metal detector with 3 Loves and a JUC on it didn't set off the alarm but both SFO and Oakland International it went off. They just have to pat you down if it goes off or request to go through the full body scanner and you should be fine. I only brought the screwdriver with me once a few years ago in my purse and they didn't ask any questions. Good luck!

I have never brought the screwdriver through the airport. I would set it aside in the bin in another baggy if you think it might cause alarm. That way they don’t have to dig through your bag if they want to inspect it. I have found that (in my limited experience) going through the full body scanner with the Love is just fine. Going through with the Love and JUC together would earn me an extra pat down. Once, they just asked me to pull up my left sleeve (the arm I wear my bracelets on) so they could see what was on the arm.

I fly out of LAX all the time. The screwdriver is in my carryon most times and I haven’t had any issue with the bracelet domestically. It has gone off in the international terminal though. The TSA guy taught me a trick- put your finger under the screw as you walk through and it won’t go off. It works!

Just relax! [emoji4] I wear mine 24/7 and also bring the screwdriver in my bag when I travel just to be on the safe side, but never once have I been stopped and I fly very often. LAX is the same. Even if the alarm does sound off they’ll be okay knowing it’s a piece of jewellery.

I always set the metal detector off in airports with loves, juc, etc and I always keep a love screwdriver in my wallet and the wallet in my bag, which goes thru X-ray with no incident.
