Hi dear fellow Cartier lovers!
Last week I bought my second Cartier piece, the classic love in YG. I loved the look of it stacking it with the small love. My SA said that you have to take the small love off at night, because of the delicacy of the bracelet there is change it could get bend if you sleep with it. Did this happen to any of you? Anyone who takes their small love off at night or no problems at all? Love to hear your experiences!

I find that completely wrong. I sleep with mine with no problem. It’s essentially the same bracelet with a different locking mechanism and width but same thickness.

My husband, who is rather good in physics, explained the following to me: With all Love bracelets or any type of fastener type, the more you take them on and off, the more you risk having them wear down in time from overusage.

A quick Google brought up the following article to back this all up:

Are you sure she meant it that way? If she said it please switch to another SA immediately and report that. She should not work at Cartier. Being shocked by that nonsense.:sad:

Yes, the sm Love *can* be taken off. Unlike the reg Love. However, it is advised *not* to do it too frequently as the mechanism can get lose. So please get rid of your SA and enjoy your Loves :love:

I have a small love and wasn't advised to remove nightly when I purchased a few months ago. I am curious as to your SA's reasoning for this, was it her preference or are they now advising this to people who purchase the small love?
The small love is solid and not hollow so I don't see how it could bend at all, I mean I'm sure it could with strong force but just sleeping in it and regular wear, no.
If you do reach out to your SA and ask her to clarify please come back and let us know what she said.

I had the same reaction as @scheurin when I read this lol! The thin Love can be worn 24/7 just like the classic, and it’s actually advised not to remove it daily. I’ve worn 3 stacked successfully for years and never had any issues of them popping off or opening up. I wore them just as I wear the classic now which has unfortunately popped off a few times.

Fully agreed with my fellow Cartier lovers - the SA might be confused? The small love from what i hear actually has less lock mechanism issues than the regular. I haven’t taken mine off since last year and the shape looks just the same. Shine is holding up pretty good as well but I digress...

That is exactly what she said. She said because it is thinner then the regular one, and it gets stuck when sleeping, it could get bend. :confused1: Your reaction is why I thought I’d ask here because I find it kinda strange also.

Thank you all for the honest replies!
It was my first love bracelet I bought and although I already made up my mind I was getting the regular one, she said that about the small love. Maybe something similar happened once and she just said it to be sure that she had mentioned it? Well, at least this isn’t stopping me from buying a small love for stacking  because of the replies I got from you my “concerns” are taken away. My birthday is in June so a good moment to buy another love.

I only wear my small love on the weekends because of work, and I take mine off at the end of each weekend. Had it almost a year, no troubles so far, but I am wondering how it will fare in the longer term. When I bought mine the SA seemed to think that it was alright if I took it off weekly. She recommended against me buying the normal love at the time, as I told her I needed to be able to take it off for work.

May be she meant if it’s slept on, it could weaken the hinged/screwed area? Highly unlikely but somewhat possible to bend the thin areas where the 2 pieces connect over time? I’d more worry about wearing down the screws with frequent removal than bending the bracelet while sleeping though. It’s not like we’re sleeping on a wood pellet. I’m assuming if one’s sleeping on top of the bracelet, the mattress will give a little.

It sounds a bit like a sales pitch, maybe because you already expressed that you wanted to get the regular. Do you sleep with things harder than gold? How many times did your hand get stuck during your sleep? That would be the in bedframe or you should be a very active sleepwalker. Metal can bend when it's really hot, but things don't just get stuck in bed.

I think we agree that the SA is nuts. No worries here. But you might be right it may be a sales pitch. I know expecially from Zurich that they try everything to get your $$$ which creates an uneasy athmosphere.

What I normally do is to ask for a real goldsmith as my SA. In many boutiques they have these. Completely different experience.

I have both the classic and the small love. I work for the NHS therefore only wear them on weekends, I know they advise against this with the classic love but I’ve had no problems so far! I sleep, shower, clean, run in them. I wasn’t even given that advice with my Small JUC.
