Small flap wallet or classic flap cardholder?

I recently got my first Chanel bag, a medium classic flap, and I’d like to get a wallet to go with it. I initially had my heart set on the small classic flap compact wallet, but recently started having doubts after a friend recommended the classic cardholder instead.

Which one do you all feel is a better fit in a medium classic flap? I’m not able to go to a store in person to compare. If you happen to own both, which do you think is more practical?

I recommend this one:

A classic for a classic.
Plus, whenever you dont want to take your bag out, you can just slip this bad boy in your pocket due to it’s slimness and you are good to go.

I personally have this one:

It’s honestly the absolute best of the best but since its thicker, sadly it looks too bulky to fit in my pockets and seems best to stay inside the bag.

I agree, I think the small wallet would be too big for the bag.

And this this would be great for the bag. But I've also had my eye on the traditional flat card holder as well, which would definitely work in the bag!

After getting a card holder that isn't flat, I would never buy another flat one again. It's just nice to have a little extra space if you ever need to put in something else (ex: cash). I understand we all want to be as minimal with the size as possible for card holders, but a non-flat one is still small in comparison to a wallet.

Thank you everyone for your input! While looking up reviews on youtube about the classic flap card holder, I came across a slightly larger one called the XL flap card holder. I don't see it on the website though. Does anyone know if this is always available or is it a seasonal item?

I really like mine! If you like compartments there the zipped one, too. But I personally haven’t used. I know a lot of people like it though.

I think XL flap card holder is called classic flap coin purse on the website. I find the zipper on the back of the compact wallet ugly, much prefer the look of (XL) card holder.

I have to agree. As much as I really really really wanted to love and use the flat ones, I have had several over the years it just does not work well for me. I like the extra room and personally I am not a fan of “card slots” I keep short groomed finger nails and it always cuts up my cuticles or hurt my fingers to pull the cards out. I prefer flap styles. Even zipper bags not really a fan. Lol. Here is the little beauty I just got. I love her. Small and compact. Fits in my pocket well enough.

i have all three, the flat card holder, the flap card holder and the XL one (it is called classic flap coin purse and it is the two gusset one compared to classic flap card holder having one). between all three i use my flat card holder the most and the XL one the least. XL gets too bulky when it is filled and i like the flat card holder not having any flaps to take space inside the bag.

Medium flap is bug enough to fit the wallet, I really recommend going with your heart and getting the small wallet, the look is classic and it will never go out of style. It’s also better to invest now in a wallet than a card holder and then later getting a wallet for more space.
A small wallet is way more practical than a large wallet or a card holder.
