My large fits quite a bit. I have never tried the extra large.

I’d go with the large. It’s spacious enough to fit your essentias without being too gigantic to be worn to dinners. I think the XL one is suitable more during the daytime or as a work bag. I just personally think an evening bag isn’t supposed to be that huge.

I have 2 large and it’s beautiful and it fits more than just a wallet or lipstick! It’s quite spacious. I’ve never seen an XL before tho!
