Hello yall'[emoji7] Doin a little bit of research before buying my 1st pair. Iv read on the Valentino forum that one must protect the sole.
How does one do this? And can anyone tell me if the soles are slippery?
Thanks in advance! Hugs!

I dont think theyre slippery, but even if they are, once you wear them outside, it'll be scuffed. I usually wear them out a few times before taking them to be soled.

Go to a well reputed shoe repair shop and ask for front soles.

I know this thread is old but need help.Wore my rockstud kitten heel Saturday and the bottom looks like I have worn them 100 times.Do you get them covered straight away or wear them a few more times first?
Looking at the heels I don't think that will last long either before reheeling.Didnt realise how delicate they are

image.jpeg image.jpeg After my second time wearing them I can't wear these again without getting them done even the heels.I would never buy these again they are shocking after wearing them twice.i am very nervous about taking them to a shoe repair but I can't wear them again or there will be no point left at the front.Totally not worth the price tag to do this

I am shocked at the wear with those!!! Even the heel screws are showing?!?! That’s atrocious! Maybe you got a super old pair that’s been in a stockroom for years? It looks like the rubber tip of the heel crumbled off. Tsk tsk.

Bring it to cobbler. He can fix that easily so it’s far more durable (and wearable)! You already spent a lot, it’ll go to waste if you don’t get more wears at least!

Thanks I will definitely take it to the cobbler I don't have a choice really as I can't wear them like that.i have spare heel screws shall I get the cobbler to fit his own.? I bet the ones I got in the box won't last like the ones on anyway.I wanted a black pair but it's put me off totally buying anymore

Took them to selfridges they are sending them away to repair for free as best they can which is better than nothing as i cant wear them.Sales lady said you have to be careful where you walk when wearing them!!
Worst shoes i have ever bought in my life total waste of money

I own a few pairs of rockstud (pumps, flats, kitten heels) and can share that they can be slipper when worn brand new with their original leather soles. It also depends on the surfaces you walk on.
I managed through a couple of wears for mine when brought brand new, before I had to have the protective rubber soles add to their bottoms. For 1 pair though, I slipped on a wet surface (and thankfully didn't land on my face!). I however haven't' experienced the metal heels showing like in your case  sorry to hear that!

It looks like you may have unfortunately scraped the leather against a hard surface? This has happened to me with a heel that got caught in a drain grate.

In all honesty, no pair of leather shoes can withstand that much abuse without sustaining some damage. I have learned to be more mindful of where and when I wear designer shoes.

Anyway, you could try to bring it to a cobbler who specialises in repairing/restoring patent. They may have to replace the leather of the heel portion altogether.
