My friend has a lovely slim gold watch with a rectangular face. It reminds me of the Cartier Baignoire but that has an oval face.

Do you recognize this watch? I've pulled some photos from facebook and cropped for privacy.

A similar look to the Cartier Baignoire:

In the meantime, I think it could be the Tonneau--wow did not know this existed, and it is beautiful. But as you have pointed out, it only comes in leather and satin straps. The Collection Privée in 2006 had the last versions of the Tonneau. The model, like previous versions, was only available in gold and platinum and the two time zone model also had white gold.

The other model I think could be a candidate is the Cartier Tank Cintree. However, this watch was produced in small quantities. The most recent versions were in 2006 with 150 yellow gold and 50 platinum limited editions. And 2004 with 100 two time zone models in white or pink gold that was produced for Asia.

I used to think these thin-face, elongated watches looked so outdated, dowdy, and stuffy. That was when oversized watches were the top trend back when Chanel was pushing their J12. Funny now that I'm starting to admire these, what do you think??
