Slight damage to brand new College bag

Update: they got back to me and said I could either return it, or they’ll issue a partial refund for the cost of repairing the bag. They didn’t specify how much that would be. I’m leaning towards taking the partial refund, because I love the colour of this bag SO much, and I can’t find it anywhere else online. I’m going to sleep on it and decide tomorrow.

I think you should keep it! With the partial refund it'd be an even better deal. I don't think anything's gonna happen to the flap over time.

Depending on how much that partial refund will be, I'd say keep it. Like someone else mentioned, you can probably get a cobbler to make those minor repairs at a small cost. I'd just keep an eye on the tear on the edge of the flap, that's the one that concerns me the most. I love my medium college, so I don't blame you for being hesitant to return. I hope they give you a good refund amount!

but dark smog really is awesome, I love mine!

Everything is more expensive in Canada when our dollar is not on par with the USD, and it hasn't been in over 10 years.
