For the most part I've avoided getting a skinny mini because they looked simply too small to me. Maybe fit a couple of cards in the actual card slots, but I couldn't imagine being able to get anything into the zippered portion--least of all more cards. But I've also never seen one in person, and all the pictures I can find are of them empty.

Would anyone who has a skinny mini be willing to show me how you use it/what you fit into it on the regular?

I have a lot of mini skinnys. I use them for my cash, ID, and starbucks card. I put the money in the zipped section, and the ID/card in the outside pocket. I can then just grab the mini skinny when I run out for lunch from work, or if just popping in somewhere to buy something with cash...

I think some people use them for a small amount of cards, but it wouldn't work for a large amount of them.

I find the zipper compartment of mini skinnies to be completely useless. I prefer the small card cases. The one I've used most is the men's Pacman one. It is close to the size of a mini skinny, maybe slightly bigger, at 4 1/8 inches by 3 1/16 inches. But it has more than twice the storage space. 3 card slots on the front, 3 on the back, 2 side slip pockets that could also hold cards, and an open top section that could also hold cards. You could easily fit 10 - 12 cards total, or a combination of cards and folded cash. It doesn't have the keychain that most mini skinnies have though, but I never wanted that anyway.

That's what I was thinking, in terms of the zipper. I figured that especially with a couple cards in the slots, it would be very hard to use the zip part at all. Thank you for the input!

I was actually pretty surprised that my Mini Skinny could fit my car keys! However, if you do use it as a key case, you can't really use the outside card pockets.

Haha, I like how surprised you are. I have a million keys so I don't know if it would be good for a key case (I currently use a mini wristlet) for me though, unfortunately.

I agree if I was trying to use it as a card case it wouldn't work. But for me it is a mini wallet that holds cash and ID. I put my cards in another small card type wallet. So it depends what you want to use it for.

You can technically put a couple cards in the slots and the zipper part is still very accessible, but you wouldn't do a lot more than that.

I don't think I could get along without my zip card case. I can toss it in any bag but also just put it in my pocket with no bag. Keep my IDs and CCs in the outside slots, and bit of cash plus all other med cards and a couple more cards in the zip card slot. I think it's better than a mini skinny for space available.

I have a couple of those too. The only con for me is that it is a bit shorter in height than the mini skinny so it makes the pocket part slightly smaller for my use. But they are very similar and function about the same way for me otherwise--I use those in the same way I would use a mini skinny. I mainly buy them if they have a cute one on FOS.

I have a few of these but I've never used them. The con for me is that they are too long to fit in the slip pocket inside most of my bags.

I have a crossgrain skinny mini that I never had time to return. I could barely get credit cards in and out of the outside slots. I had planned to put more cards in the zippered part but it was way too small. I carry 10+ cards on a daily basis and the only option that has ever worked for me are the Vera Bradley zip id cases...they just wear out so quickly, which is why I bought the mini skinny; oh well! I don't like regular wallets because they take up too much space.

I can't recommend the mini skinny personally, but I think I softer leather would be better in any case.

This style was my favorite for a long time. They haven't made them in awhile. There were lots of versions. I think it was only ever made for factory stores. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Coac...018362?hash=item3425c5c8ba:g:yDMAAOSwlA9ejrLk
It has 2 ID windows plus pockets for other cards, which aren't as tight as the mini skinny. There was also a version that had more depth for even more cards.

Thank you for the input! Especially with the answers I've gotten, I'm pretty sure a mini skinny is not for me.
