I will be doing a Mediterranean cruise soon and was thinking of bringing a Le Pliage tote for days where a tour may require me to bring more than a WOC can carry. Any advice to M vs L, as one thing is I dont want it to be too heavy either. I have only seen the green, but looking at maybe original as it seems to have more inside pockets. Thanks!

Depends on what you plan on carrying but large is really big for a day bag. I can fit a lot in my medium. Maybe compare the dimensions from each size or better yet, see them IRL if you are able to (Nordstrom and other department stores sell Longchamp if you aren't near one of the few Longchamp stores there are in the world).

Pliage Backpack is great. I can even put my Dslr camera in it. The large one can be heavy on the shoulder if you fill it. Medium should be enough for a day bag. I actually bring both a backpack and a large when I go on a cruise since they are so lightweight and give me a choice as to which size to use.

Thanks so much for the replies. Will check out the backpack too. My Nordstroms has a few choices and the mediums I tried seemed to be different in size.
Hope you find the perfect bag for your cruise :)

If your local Nordies carries old stock, the pre 2019 (not sure of the exact year, but it was around that time) small/medium long handle was significantly smaller than the new ones. They’ve increased the length from 24/25cm to 28cm. That may explain the size differences that you’re seeing.
