Since when is Ralph Lauren THIS expensive?!

I came across a photo of a bag I really liked the shape etc and saw the brand was Ralph Lauren and (stupidly) thought oh it's "only" Ralph Lauren, it won't be that expensive! Boy was I wrong! Why did I have this notion that Ralph Lauren was a lower end brand?

This is the bag that caught my eye btw.... think it's called the Ricky?

It is the Ricky bag but wow the price has gone up a lot!
I have a larger size in patent leather and it was a bit over $3,000 usd when I bought it a number of years back.
I love mine but it is heavy.

ETA this is from their collection line which is the women's division of purple label so it is more expensive.
They claim to be hand made of very high quality materials in case that helps your decision.

Ralph Lauren mainline has always been very expensive! You might be thinking of his cheaper diffusion lines? (The Ricky is priced like purple label items)

The Ricky is super heavy as @A bottle of Red said though…

Their new tote is super pretty and much lighter, however the open top isn’t for everyone…

I don't shop RL but I know it has some very pricey departments. It's on the top floor at my local NM with all the premier designers like Oscar de la Renta et al.

I had this bag a couple of years ago. It's _extremely_ well made but as mentioned it is heavy. However it does come with a strap which helps.

Yes I have 3 of these in different colors ( though I paid less than the current price) and love them! Also can get heavy and the thin strap isn't great but beautiful bags

This is still one of my favourites!!!! I saw an emerald green RL50in alligator and it was breathtaking!
