Silver hardware question....................

Hi Chanel lovers,

I am wondering if the "coating" if it is a "coating"- on silver hardware on Chanel handbags wears away or if anyone has any other problems with silver hardware.

I've never had any issue with any hardware on my Chanels.

No issues on a variety of Chanels on silver hw.
No issues on any hw including so black.
Unlike Hermes, where I’ve had to replace Kelly phw on several bags

Champagne gold hw completely wore off and looks silver now, on the turning bit of the lock of my ~9 year old mini. Based on that I'm thinking silver shouldn't wear off, because what would be underneath ❓❓🤔

The same thing is happening to my 9 year old mini as well.

The silver chain stays well. But the stem of the clasp, its coating will come off due to wear n tear
