Hello everyone!

I originally put this in the Gucci forum but I realize this is more of a general silver handbag question. What do we think of silver bags? What can you wear with them?

I am a more neutral type of gal, and this bag is out of my comfort zone, but I'm drawn to it and love guccissima.

Can you let me know what you think?

If it's out of your comfort zone, there's a good chance you won't wear it as often as it deserves. Sometimes a thing of beauty is better admired from afar.

I'm going to offer a counter point. I used to be a neutral color only gal (for clothes, shoes, and bags), and I used to wear cross-body bags only. Since I started stepping out of that zone, BOY I'm having a lot more fun with clothes & accessories! :D

Excellent point, QueenLouis. It may be just the "jump start" the OP needs to step out of her comfort zone!

I have a silver bag. I tend to wear it with a black top and jeans. I've been known to carry it to work a couple times while wearing a black & gray outfit.

Thank you for the responses :)

This would be more of a fun bag for me as I own so many :)

Buy it! I always have silver and gold handbags in my wardrobe and use them as neutrals. They are so much more fun and interesting than a black or brown neutral. And they work as a pop of "color" without adding color.

Play around with it once you have it and you'll be surprised how many outfits it compliments.

Silver and gold ARE neutrals!
If you're drawn to it, by all means get it and have fun! You may surprise yourself and find that you reach for it more often then expected.....

Thanks so much for this insight. I'm hoping that is actually might work with a lot :)

The last time that I wore a silver bag was in the '80s as a teenager. This brought back memories as it was a big tote. I loved that bag! I say go for it.

Hehe - not sure I want to feel stuck in the 80's [emoji6]but I think I get your point. Thank you!!

Thanks so much. I truly love the guccissima leather and feel like if I'm ever going to take the chance on silver I should do it with Gucci lol!

It's like gray... but FABULOUS!

Woohoo!![emoji3]

I have this one. I'm surprised at how much I wear it.

It's gray fabric with a lot of silver embroidery that you can't really see in the pic. It's sparkly but not shiny.

I don't think I would wear a shiny bag, but I don't like a lot of attention.

This gray tone is nice when you need a cool color but don't want to go to black. You really have to see what you would wear it with in your wardrobe.

I went through this with silver shoes, and I ended up buying pumps that were more pewter than polished silver. They have black mixed in with the silver somehow. I think they are a lot more versatile than silver or chrome leather.

I have this silver bag by Lauren Ralph Lauren and I love it, I wear it around christmas, going out, going to brunch. I love silver since it stands out more than grey and can be slightly more fancy
