I hope this hasn't already been asked but I was thinking or ordering a silky pop to use for university, such as notebooks, pencil case..nothing too big..
So..my question is what are the pros and cons of the bag? :confused1:
I love that if I don't need to use it anymore I can easily store it in my bag...What do you think?..Please share your experiences and pics:tup:

Please count me on the list of those who are waiting to hear that this is a great bag.

They are so delectable on the H.com website and in concept that I am all on board.

The problem so far is that it is supposedly an H item made from top quality silk (admittedly "an incredibly strong fiber"), I think, is intended to be a kind of throwaway bag. It's kind of like the use for this bag would take a chain reaction of circumstances in order to be of help, because otherwise, another bag would do, and it would do at a cost of about 10 dollars. Or less.

I say this with incredible sadness, as I think the Silkypops are gorgeous to the point of purse pornography: things you think you want, and actually can have, but you do not want to buy. You just keep looking at the pictures at the H site with animation.

You know that you want them. You just can't figure out how they will fit in, in your daily life. Am I right?

They ARE gorgeous things, aren't they, the Silkypops??

Thanks alot for replying! They are gorgeous and I want one so badly..I usely end up taking small chanels to classes so this would be so helpful! I'm so frustrated..they're just so.....pretttty!:girlsigh:

They are so adorable. They're great to keep in your purse just in case you find yourself at the drugstore to pick up a few things. I always seem to forget my "green bag" at home, but this is one that zips up so neatly to always carry it.

They're gorgeous, but they're really not designed for heavy objects or seriously heavy usage. For lighter weight things, or for the odd trip to pick up some stuff at the store, they're great.

if you do a search...there is an entire thread on the silkypop

I have put 2 bottles of wine in mine...they are designed for heavy use...they are treated for stains, etc so they are VERY usable.

why not buy some lovely accessories or a GM shawl instead of the silkypop?

it is lovely, but a silk bag doesn't seem practical for university even though i totally believe in hermes quality. i just bought a couple of these nylon totes from the container store,

if you go to the reference section....you can go and see pics of the silkypop and the silkycity.

I used my silkypop today....to store some things I was returning at the mall. when I was done returning and exchanging and various stores...I just folded it up and put it in my birkin.

and later...at the Container store...I bought some really heavy hangers....and I didn't want a bag so I shoved them in my silkypop.

yesterday bought 2 bottles of wine...and stuck them in my silkypop.

it has a nylon lining and they put a protector on the outside too.

I totally agree with guccigal. Incredibly useful, holds a ton, folds up when you don't need it. Yes, it is ridiculously expensive, but so is everything Hermes. I would absolutely not call this a throwaway bag.

I bought one to use for small-medium purchases, and to keep in my purse if I needed an extra bag. When it arrived and I openned it, as sturdy (somewhat) and beautiful as it was, I ended up sending it back. Granted, I spent huge sums of money on my birkins and lindy, but when I saw the silkp pop I knew it just wont last like the leather bags will. I just dont think that a slightly reinforced silk scarf with a leather bottom will hold up to the abuse. Great concept, gorgeous colors, and definetely great to keep around just in case, but I dont have the heart to use and abuse a small $900 silk bag.
