Silica Gel in Chanel Bags?

Has anyone tried silica gel in their bags? is it recommended?
I don't want to end up robbing my bags of moisture by doing so, but I am in a temperate climate for the next few months.

It is going to be high humidity high moisture and it will be raining frequently and heavily. I have a few vintage lambskins and aged calf reissues to worry about, (caviar i don't stress as much hehe)

I try not to put it inside my bag. Only put in the closet where I keep my bag because I am worried it will make my bag too dry and the leather will start cracking.
