Signature Wallet - How does it wear?

I just bought a Hampton's Signature Envelope in dark brown C's on dark brown background. This to match the Legacy Shoulder Flap in the same signature colors. Both were super deals at the Outlet, but I've never owned the Signature material and wondered how well it will wear. I'm so used to leather and wanting a product to give me my money's worth. I'm kind of thrifty but love to get quality items at a good deal. I overheard an SA telling a customer the life of a leather bag is about 5-7 years and the life of a Signature bag is about 3-5. How do you like your Signature wallet? I just keep rethinking this and wondering if I should keep them or just invest in the leather.

I have two Coach wallets - both the Bleecker signature compact clutch, one in brown the other in black. I use the black most often b/c it coordinates with more of my bags and it has held up extremely well. The only thing is it has the white tattersall lining so the pocket I keep my change in has discolored from my coins  Not sure if it will ever come clean.

I have a Signature Envelope Wallet and i've only had it for a few months but it's held up VERY well. I think it really comes down to how you treat your items...I take good care of my stuff, but I don't "baby" them by any means.

I wish I would have thought about that before buying my bleeker with signature brown and leather... It seems to hold up well, I dont even use the coin compartment for coins, but my mini skinni instead- but I still am a bigger fan of all leather..... oh well, now i ll have to keep it for another half year for sure... I also overheard an employee say that leather is good for 5-7 yrs........ that actually depressed me :( I m awaiting more, even tho i know i most likely won't keep it for that long...

I think that signature fabric holds up okay. I have a capacity wristlet that is about three months old. I use it on a daily basis, throwing it in my backpack, and my larger bags. You can tell it is not brand new. It looks a little "fuzzy" with some micro threads hear and there. The corners take a beating but have not given up yet. Overall its still hanging in there. Given the choice again, I would def pick leather though.

I have a Bleecker signature compact wallet but I keep switching with my other full leather Coach and Roots wallets and miniskinnies I own. I guess since I keep switching wallets from time to time, I don't really worry how long each could last due to continuous use. I got these Coach wallets at a good price--$39 each at the Yorkdale sale--and so I just go with the flow. :wlae:

So far they all hold up well but I have only been using Coach wallets/miniskinnies since June of this year.

The life of a Coach Leather bag really depends on how much it's used and how well it's taken care of. I forgot her name but one of the ladies on here has an AMAZING vintage collection, and her bags are pristine. Some of them are over 20 years old. To me my wallets get more beat up than my bags, probably because they get so much use <giggle> and because I don't tend to change wallets when I change bags. Bad habit I need to break. So...that means I need more wallets.

I've had a hamptons turnlock wallet for about 2 months or more and it still looks great!!! Can I ask the deal you got on it? I'm looking for that exact wallet.

i've had the khaki slim envelope wallet since '04 and used it on a daily basis for a long time. the leather needs a little cleaning, but otherwise it's held up quite nicely.

I have a couple of signature wallets also and they hold up very well however I rarely carry them for longer than 2 weeks without switching. I also never use the coin part since I don't want the coins to get it dirty, especially on the Legacy wallets. I use my mini skinnies to carry change.

That's exactly what I do too! Glad to know I'm not the only one out there lol.

Sure! I found it at the Lebanon, Tennessee outlet for $54.99. I just looked at my receipt and noticed it's called the Hampton's Signature Tote Slim Envelope Wallet. They had this in the leather beet, but that's not really my color.
