I need a new watch. My Rado which I absolutely loved stopped working and Rado has informed me that it will cost $1,400 to fix it. The watch cost about that much when I bought it nearly 10 years ago.

So, I'm on the hunt for a watch. I am somewhat petite (5'4 but small boned). So far I kind of like mother of pearl on the dial but I am open to suggestions. I don't even know if I want a link or strap. My Rado was a link and had no diamonds although I am open to diamonds.

So she me what you got!

i just bought this piaget watch, it's from the miss protocole collection and i love it! the straps are interchangeable so you can match your outfit all the time if you like, but i just use an ivory pearlescent leather strap for everyday wear . . . .

bhurry, yes $1,400 to repair--I couldn't believe it. The major cost is to fix the bracelet which is the only "optional" repair and is about $850 to replace. Even without fixing the bracelet part, it will cost about $600 to repair and they will not warranty my bracelet as it is.

By the way, anyone with a Rado should be careful. Although they are supposed to be waterproof, I was told the dial had water moisture in it.

^^ That is good to know - my daily watch is a Rado Jubile and I will take more care near water now. Have you looked at the new Rado collection? I saw some gorgeous models at the airport last week. Also, you might like Georg Jensen if you like Rado - I adore his watches.

Miss Sooky thanks. I will have to check out those watches.

Honestly I love the look of the Rado but am disappointed. I had a battery replaced at an authorized dealer a few years ago but they must not have sealed it properly and water seeped in. I don't think I would buy a Rado again but we'll see.

Wow, I've never seen this watch before, it's beautiful. May I ask where you got it, and maybe the price? Also would you be able to change the strap yourself?
