I'm in the market for a "shoulder" bag. By that I mean a bag that I can carry on my shoulder that:
- isn't a tote - I want something that closes
- preferably isn't a cross-body - already have two smaller ones, and I think they cause me shoulder problems if they are a bit heavy because they sit so low
- isn't too big - not going to use it for bigger things, just the essentials
- preferably isn't a hobo shape - but I guess I would be open to a really good one, too

The only one I could think of right now is the Loewe Puzzle although it does not strictly meet my requirements (hahaha!). Which is why I need your help! Budget is about $2500 max. Thanks in advance!

Ah, the elusive shoulder bag. YSL is good, they have several options. Have a look at Gucci too. The bigger rectangular Ophidia is a very good shoulder bag, and very light. The new Zumi is a top handle, but the small size looks also great as a shoulder bag (Handles fold in and strap hooks on the sides). Loewe’s new Lazo is more of a tote but closes safely and it is comfortable to wear in the shoulder. The Flamenco is also a small shoulder bag, but a bit of a hobo shape. Another one would be the small Pandora. All of these close safely and are within your budget.

I love my Loewe puzzle in medium! There are 4 lengths for the strap so it works well for crossbody and shoulder carry. I find it pretty easy to adjust the strap length so I actually change it multiple times in a day depending on my needs. It zips all the way up for security! I got mine pre-loved for about 50% off in great condition so you could consider that option as well.
