Hi all! I am thinking of having my next chanel be a mini rectangle black with LGHW. I know its hard to come by, especially where I live. But, one can dream. Haha. That being said, i have a medium classic flap in black with the classic yellow gold hardware in quilted cavier. I love my bags cross body and double strapped. And i love black, i feel like chanel does black the best. There is some sort of sexiness to it. Haha! So would you get a mini rectangle in black quilted with LGHW as your second chanel if you were me?

Otherwise, i am considering a grey. 21B has both light grey with silver hardware (i love it! But not sure if it will suit my style- i dont have any grey clothes or bags) and dark grey. Even though the dark grey almost looks like black in some of the pictures online, i am leaning more towards it over the light grey. Also, my style is pretty extreme(?). I wear alot of varying shades of bright colours (white/red/light blue/pink/beige/green/yellow). But i wear alot of black too (full black outfits). And i love fun bright prints in my clothes but i love a black plain tee paired with black shorts/skirts.

Also, my current collection has a black lady dior, white and maroon diorama if that helps to paint a fairer picture:P:P

sorry for rambling! But do share your thoughts and opinions. I would love to hear them all. Thank you in advance! Love the community here

If you have just one black medium cf then I think it doesn't matter if you buy a second bag in black. And the second bag will be in lghw and not ghw which is a better choice not having the same hw color. However if you don't want to buy more chanel bags than I would choose an other color. I would also go for grey because you can combine it with a lot of other colors and the dark grey will be close to black and black is the color you prefer for chanel. And the dark grey will be with lghw which will be as well a better choice for you in my point of view.
I have a classic flap in black and I don't want to buy an other in black. I think if you have different colors you can vary / change more.
But even if you would buy an other black bag I think you can't get wrong with it. In case you think in 2 or 3 years differently you can sell it without a big loss.

Go with what you want. There's plenty of chanel collectors who have all black collection and it's beautiful. I have three black chanel bags and the rest are different colors. Two of them are black jumbo caviar with shw and black rectangular mini lambskin with shw. I never thought I'd repeat color and hardware but I justified that I just like that combo and one is lambskin and the other is caviar. But days I want crossbody and to be hands free I use the mini and says I want or need a bigger bag, I carry the jumbo. They serve for different purposes and events. The shw is less "fancy" to me and can be dressed more casual than my black with ghw which is why I like shw.
The lghw can pass off for silver or gold so I think you'll find it more versatile.

Again, if you like it then just get it. I'm sure you'll find a purpose for it. :) go into the store and look at it if you can. Get the one that makes you smile ear to ear. If you can't do that then get the one that you've been thinking about every night! Hhaaha

Black is definitely more versatile, goes with most things. On the other hand, a coloured one would spice things up a little, more interesting. Most of my Chanel’s are black, apart from one that’s wine red. If I go for another colour, I’d consider purple, or a metallic (silver, bronze, or gold tone).

That was what I actually did! My first was a black jumbo with GHW and my 2nd was a mini with silver hardware. It does make more sense to me to get different sizes in the most basic/needed color for me as that would actually give me more variety and use :)

Everyone has their own preference. I have 4 black Chanel bags and love them all. They have different hardwares and I find each of them really different. I’d say go with what fits your style best. The one you love and get to use often.

You have heard a lot of great advice! Look at the grey and see if it clicks. If it doesn’t make you smile, then there’s nothing wrong with getting something you love that’s useful.

I’m still haunted by the black caviar reissue I didn’t buy in London. I already had a black classic flap so I skipped it and I’m so mad at myself. I ended up with a lot of other black bags to fill the gap, but it’s not the same. I should have bought what I loved.

That being said… grey is good. A navy mini might be good, too. And I saw some gorgeous pictures of upcoming so black minis. (LVloverCc has the most gorgeous black patent chevron rectangular mini & the so blacks remind me of hers. I don’t like lambskin bags that much- but disregard if your lady Dior is patent. Mine is lamb).

No wrong choices. Have fun!!

+1 black mini. You already know you will love and wear it.

you love the grey but don’t know it will suit your style. based on your own words, I would not get the grey.

however, you mentioned you love the PHW on the grey bag. Have you thought of a black mini, PHW?

You are basically buying the same bag in a smaller size so in my opinion, it all comes down to one question:
On what occasions would you wear the mini rectangular in black lghw that you wouldn't/couldn't wear your current black medium flap ghw? I would list each occasion down and then I would consider how many times per year those occasions are likely to happen and then you will come to the conclusion whether it is worth to pay XXXX to buy the black mini or not.

Another question that I think can help you to get a true answer is: Imagine you didn't have the medium CF, if someone gave you a cheque for the amount of the black medium flap ghw, would you repurchase it again or would you buy the black mini instead? Then you will know whether you truly want the 2 black bags in your collection or if you want the mini because the medium flap is not really doing it for you.

With Chanel crazy prices, I think is best to have a versatile collection by choosing bag specs that are unique instead of repeating them in different sizes unless you are 100% sure that that is what you want. I see some collections with all black bags and they are all the same specs: diamond quilts, black, caviar, maybe the only change is the hw or the size. I don't think that is versatile enough personally for me to spend so much money on such similar specs, but those people seem very happy and content with their collections so you can choose either way and you will be right lol

Thanks!! I actually have a dark blue furla metropolis bag for years and i hardly wear it. I have the exact same one in black which i bought 2 years later and only wore that :P So maybe not blue for me but thanks for then suggestion!

with what happened to the dark blue furla, i feel the same thing may happen if i were to get a grey chanel mini hahaha

i think maybe the issue is i have no idea what clothes to pair with grey.. oops hahaha
