I guess it depends on what exactly you mean by "prefer". If you love both but slightly prefer PHW, that is one thing. I don't like and won't wear GHW, so for me I would definitely wait for PHW because otherwise I wouldn't wear the bag. But I am much more rigid about that than most people are!

Sounds like a gorgeous bag...

Your sa should understand your concern

I would take it. “A bird in the hand..." I wanted a black croc Kelly, but was offered a black croc Kelly Cut last year. I took it and love it. Recently I was offered and took a 30 graphite B, cause it's gorgeous and I can have it and maybe in a few months or a year I can get another exotic. But they don't get offered often, in my experience, so I take what I can get and I'm not sorry one bit! :D

That was a 30 graphite CROC Birkin that I accepted. I must not be that picky. I think all the exotics are gorgeous and have yet to turn one down! If you think it's gorgeous and you can afford it, take it!

. but I know what you mean OP. I would wait for your choosen / your wants . If one came along then for sure another in your preference will ...and make it all the sweeter when you do get it . If you are anything like me you will love it but when you see a pic / someone with your exact wantings you will long for it even mmore and dare I say love a little less the compromise you got .

Have you considered going to check it out in person ? Maybe seeing it might change your mind ...

I would love to be offered a croc but I would like what you rejected , if I was offered the PHW , as hard as it would be I would decline it - I have settled for Chanels etc that are much less costly but not exactly what I want at that time but a compromise as I thought what I wanted wouldn't be available .

ghw and phw are totally different bags. Phw is sleek and modern while ghw is more classic and formal. Either way it will be stunning with shiny croc!

when i was younger and just started H i thought hardware doesn't matter much,,,,,but i was so wrong. with some colours it changes the tone of it, for example i found my gris t bag would somehow turn into a parchemin look-alike with ghw and would stay grey in phw.....some bags i regret not being picky on the hw. especially with exotics i totally agree with you about the hw -- i would wait for phw

It depends on what you really want.
Which color jewelry do you wear? Do you mind to mix metals?
If phw is what you truly want, I would wait for it. But if you might have other B's already with phw, and if ghw would work for you, then it might would consider to get this one.
But only if you really love it, it's way too expensive for something that you won't love 100% ;).

If you're having to think it over, pass. Don't just take it because you were offered. Thats like saying accept ANY bag that the SA offers you because they're rarely offered. Your SA should know what your exact specs are. If you're not a black/gold combo person, then you're not. Plain and simple. The right bag will find you. LOL kinda like dating - if it's kismet, it's meant to be. Otherwise don't force it.

I wear mostly white gold/platinum tone jewelry but if I were to get a black croc/gator bag, it'll definitely be with GHW. It just looks so gorgeous in that combination. Why not go take a look and see if it makes your heart sing?
