Should I sell my Gucci marmont for soho Disco?

Hi everyone!

I bought my Gucci marmont camera bag in size small in April this year. I have used it a handful times, not because I don't love it, I do but I am scared of getting it scratched and sometimes the hardware seems too flashy with the chain on the strap. Right now I need an everyday bag. I am considering selling the marmont and getting the disco. I think the disco is more casual and pebbled leather makes it easier to use everyday. But I am worried I might find the disco too plain (but that is what I am actually looking for). I am complicated I know lol. Plus if I get the Gucci belt (which I plan to soon) it wouldn't be GG overload since the disco has no hardware other than the tassle. Did anyone exchange these two also and regret it? I was also wondering if the disco is bulkier than the marmont?

If I were too keep the Gucci then I might considering getting the Balenciaga mini city which has only leather strap.

*Also does anyone have the disco in red? is it too flashy for everyday? I love the red color but I am worried it might be too flashy or get dirty easier and end up in the closet too, defeating the purpose.

I have the red. It’s bright but a gorgeous red. I think you have too many concerns and should step back and take a breath before you do anything. I have sold too many bags in the past that I now regret and am much more careful. You need to be 100% on board with selling (and buying) and it doesn’t seem like you are ready. Good luck.

I have the disco in red. I love it as an everyday bag and go everywhere with it. After constant use for over 2 years, I see some of the leather is wearing off around the bottom edges. It's a good size and it fits my big wallet. Overall, I highly recommend it.

I have the red, I've been wearing it nonstop with dark clothing for 2 years now, no color transfer.
I don't think it's too flashy imo. It's a great casual bag that can be paired nicely with a fancy outfit, if you wish.

Red is a neutral color. Easy to match with majority of everything.

I have the Marmont camera bag in small that I don’t personally find it to be so delicate. I agree with the above in that you should take a step back and use the bag you have since you aren’t 100% detached from the Marmont.

I only have the Soho Disco but like the Marmont camera style.

I don't think the Marmont is any more delicate than the S Disco if you did want to use it everyday. Style wise, I also prefer the less hardware of the Disco and red would be gorgeous (mine is burnt orange suede).

If you're not using the Marmot the Disco would be a great little bag for everyday, every day.

Thanks for your input everyone. I will go ahead and keep the marmont and start using her everyday. These posts really helped me take a step back and I realized I couldn't part with it. I realized the chain is minimal and she is such a luxurious beauty, I bought her to wear her not have in the closet!! I might find another everyday bag in the future to rotate :)

Hi @sinny1 ! Just found your thread & am glad you are keeping your marmont & will try using her more. I bought the mini marmont this year in nude/blush & absolutely ADORE it to smitherines & it’s been 1 of my 2 most used bags this year. It still looks brand new. I’m usually in the chanel & balenciaga threads but I often give major praise to Gucci/especially the marmont because of my love of the design & it’s very carefree/stress free (much so less than when I wear chanel). I sincerely hope you will end up using & loving yours as I do mine! :flowers:

Yes I baby my Chanel bags and don't mind putting them away and taking them out when I want to enjoy them. I was getting concerned about my Gucci because I bought her for the purpose of actually using her and being care free because I just love Gucci so much for its design as well. I am going to put all of my stuff inside the marmont and not be afraid to use her. I was thinking I might get a Balenciaga mini to rotate even as I don't have a Balenciaga yet and have always dreamed of one!!

Bravo!! Good for you & good luck deciding on Bal mini....I find both Gucci & Bals so useable & carefree, plus stylish!
