Should I sell my bags to get an LV?

Hello! :smile1:

There are two bags in my collection that I don't really care for much anymore, two Michael Kors tote bags. I like them but I am dreaming of owning the Totally PM by Louis Vuitton! Similar sort of style but much better quality I think!

Help me decide- should I sell them and save up the funds for a Totally!?

I feel kinda nervous- I've never owned a luxury bag before so I want to be 100% certain. Also, I'm scared about carrying it out in public in case people think I'm trying to be stuck up lol.

If you aren't using them anymore, sell them. The totally was my first LV but I didn't like how it "caved in" when full and the vachetta seam got worn down on the bottom and ended up selling it. I advise you to be very selective when picking your lv out because I ended up selling so many lvs that I didn't think through in buying and found out I didn't like certain things.

I'm a bigger fan of de than mono because mono is quite flashy to people and gets a lot more unwanted comments.

Hmm yeah I might as well sell them if I can have something better..

And yes I agree, I'd like to get it in DE. :)

Definitely!! I have over 6+ MK bags that's I haven't use them for more than 6 months. Most of them are still in pristine condition. I'm planning to sell at least half of my MK collection and probably fund on preloved LV bags.

If I would you I would purchase a preloved!!! Neverfull in azur was my first LV and was purchased at the store. After using the bag for a year, the leather became very beaten up and darken. It was my first luxury bag and at that time I didn't know how to take care of my bag. After that I got my NF in ebene. I hardly use it because I was afraid it will end up as my first NF. I purchase a preloved monceau not so long ago and it was my to go to bag. Because it was preloved I didn't really care if I bump into anything or got my bag dirty.

Preloved handbag are typically 50% or less than retail price but it depends on the model and the condition of the bag!

I agree

It's very sensible but as the others have pointed out, no need to rush your next purchase, just make sure it's absolutely right for you

I sold a number of LV purses and non-LV ones, including two Chanel purses to get my Chanel Holy Grail. So far, no regrets. If you are selling those bags, make sure you are doing so for a bag you really want :)

I would sell. I just retired my LV Totally after 5 years almost almost daily use. I adored that bag. I'm still missing it but wanted a change after 5 years.

I don't like owning more than 1-2 bags at a time because I'm too lazy to switch them out. I used to sell and get a new Coach bag every 6 months before I got my Totally and I sure got my money's worth! It's a great first "luxury" bag. I love the canvas.

Unfortunately it's going to be a longer wait before I can get an LV, because I need to save up for other, more important things... Life gets in the way sometimes, doesn't it.

Oh well. Someday, she shall be mine.. mwa ha ha.. :D
