I randomly found this Bearn in Black Box with GHW in my local H one week before I travel to Greece. I hate that this is $1,000 cheaper out there without even the tax refund. It is just so stunning, I can't look and walk away from it. Kinda like staring at the sun! I have been on the market for a Bearn, but in the mini size and in mysore leather in black with ghw but no luck. I like small wallets and slowly coming to the idea that it is worth it to spend a bit on wallets. My philosophy before is spend on the bag, not on the wallet because wallet gets beat up and abused so much, it's not worth it to spend alot. But as I am now in my 30's, I am thinking on investing on a good quality, low maintenance wallet since i like keeping all my stuff looking brand new. Anyway, if i'm not mistaken, box leaher is now rare. This wallet is also super classy, elegant and grown up-looking! It does cost about $3,000. With that said... What do you guys think? Should I keep or return?

This combination is stunning! I shopped at the Athens boutique early August and there were some Bearn wallets on display in Epsom and chevre- as well as a mini Bearn bi-colored but didn't inquire if there were others. Box is indeed rare so I would keep it since you may not encounter one during your travels. How long is your return period? Maybe you can wait until after you return to make your decision?
I have seen some pre-owned Bearn wallets in this size in like new condition on eBay go for less than $900 but in chevre or Epsom and in seasonal colors.

Ooohh! Thanks for the intel. I plan to take advantage of the cheaper H price in athens. Did you take a bag home? How is their stock? Luckily, i am still able to return for store credit when i come back. I just wonder if this will become a "closet wallet" since i'd be too scared to use it, if i decide to keep.
I have the same wallet with PHW. I tend to stuff most of my wallets and only use this wallet when I need a thin wallet, mostly when I use my Jige or Medor clutches. The box leather is quite stiff which makes it a bit difficult to insert and remove credit cards. Although I am quite careful and used it a handful of time, there are a few scratches on mine. Scratches will definitely show, but they will also blend in and become less noticeable over time. Box leather is my favorite of all Hermes leathers, and the scratches on box doesn't bother me. If you are a fan of box leather, then I would say keep it and enjoy using it. But if you are too afraid of using it, then return it. There is no point in spending that much on a wallet only to have it sit in your closet.
