Should I keep it or return?

I just got my first brooch from Chanel and I liked it when I saw it. However, on second thought, the design of this brooch is pretty simple and it’s around USD650 (without tax).

I am not sure if it’s worth the price and whether it suits my lifestyle as I don’t usually dress up....

Should I return this brooch and exchange for something else? What do you guys think about this brooch? Thanks!!

Our opinion doesn't really matter much - yours does. And yours is that you're not sure, so you don't absolutely love it. At that price, you should wait until you find one that you obviously love. Chanel has many brooches with so any looks, so it shouldn't take too long to encounter one that makes your heart skip. Even if it ends up being simple, you won't care or doubt it when it's the one. I've perused many, many Chanel brooches. Some were ok, some were OMG, even when they were simple.

For casual folks (me included), the brooch seems like a good idea that doesn’t quite translate well into reality and ends up becoming a waste of money.

Perhaps a pair of earrings instead although I’m not the best to advise as I think their costume jewelry is way overpriced and not worth it in general.

Sometimes pretty and shiny things do not mean it can be incorporated into one's wardrobe. If you are not going to wear it, it is best to return.

It depends on the clothes in your closet I guess... Do you have jacket/coat/cardigan that can appeal to this brooch?

I’m in the minority, but I like it. I can imagine it even with a simple t-shirt and jeans. Or on a hat or beanie.
I totally agree though, that it seems overpriced...

I think the brooch is cute but I would return it. If it is not functional for your lifestyle then I doubt you'd get much wear out of it. Also for some reason, the Chanel brooches and jewelry are infamous for the stones falling out.

Thanks everyone! You are right that if I have to ask, then probably I don’t like it that much. I finally made up my mind to exchange it and get these two little cute things
