Hi all!
Could anyone share their thoughts on the following chanel bags?
1. Mini reissue (black with ghw)
2. 225 reissue (double flap) (black with ghw)
3. Square mini (black chevron/quited with shw or ghw)
4. Rectangle mini (black chevron/quilted with shw or ghw)

I am wondering if i should stick to another chanel bag for my next bag or a LV petite malle as I have never gotten Lv bags before.

also, I finally got my classic flap in gold hardware and black cavier (which was my dream bag).

So I am wondering if its worth venturing and buying a mini chanel or a reissue.

please share your experiences and insights

If you're only looking to add one more Chanel item to your collection and you already have a classic flap black with ghw, I'd go for the mini reissue or a chevron, as those give you more variety.

Personally I'd go for the mini reissue. It's a different look (and one I really love myself), a better price point than the 225 reissue, fits about the same, and still has the four grommets so it can be worn on the shoulder as well as crossbody. The mini square/rectangular bags can only be worn crossbody unless you shorten the straps in some way. I do love the look of chevron too, but you might also consider that minis are only available in lambskin now, while the reissue is crumpled calfskin. Lambskin isn't as delicate as people make it out to be (well, some seasons of lambskin), but it's something to keep in mind if that matters to you.

another Vote for mini reissue. I have a rectangular mini and the 2.55 in the small 225 size. If the mini reissue was available when I bought my 225, I may have bought that instead. I love the size of the 225, but it is not a bag I would personally travel with. I prefer my mini bags and woc for travel. I also have tried on the mini reissue and feel that it would be even more comfortable than my 225 when worn crossbody...The absence of a double flap does make a difference! Also, I don’t think the 225 size is worth the price difference these days And you already have a classic sized Chanel bag.

I would pick the reissue over the mini rectangular only because it’s more versatile with the gliding chains, less boxy, and more understated...so I wouldn’t think twice About using it when picking up my kids from school or other times I want to be a bit more discrete with my luxury. hope this helps!

I have a square mini as well as rectangle and sold my mini reissue.
I like a 23" drop and found the drop on the mini reissue was a touch too short. I also never doubled up the chains because I felt it looked like a child's bag on me when I did that. I greatly prefer the mini rectangle because I am strictly a crossbody girl when it comes to smaller bags.

I think it depends on your personal style. I almost always dress casually so I prefer the reissue. I originally wanted a square mini, but concluded that it would be too high maintenance for school pick-ups and running errands. (I don’t switch bags often) The shape of rec mini just doesn’t work on me (I’m 5”4’). I’ve been hunting for the mini reissue but found the 225 size first and now it’s my fave everyday bag. Thought I’d hate the double flap but I actually like them! Still would prefer mini size for traveling though. If you want something different and versatile, I’d go with the reissue, sizing depending on your personal preference. But if you feel like the CF is definitely your style, then go with the sq or rec mini. I have no idea about LVs so no comments there. Hope that helps!
Edit: after many doubts, I found that the rec. mini works for me as well, especially in SHW. However, the 2.55 is still my absolute fave :P

Wow thanks! Did your reissue 225 come flatten when you unboxed it? Did it sag over time and i am wondering if it scratches easily?

I bought it in store so I didn’t see it totally flat when the SA brought it out, but the bottom was still pointy if you know what I mean. I don’t mind it being pointy or flat because I think it will flatten out over time. I just started using it for less than a month so I can’t comment on the sagging yet. You can perhaps ask the reissue expert ladies in the clubhouse section:smile: The bag feels really sturdy and well-made so I don’t think it will sag that easily unless you really abuse it and put really heavy things in it on a regular basis. As for the scratches, they won’t be easily spotted due to the nature of reissue’s aged calfskin. It’s distressed and amazing that way. The SA told me not to do anything to it and let the leather be

I’m also debating about which mini to get! I really wanted a mini square and a mini rectangular. But since they’re so hard to find and the resale price is about 1,500 over regular prices. Now I’m debating to get a mini reissue that I found in the shinny gold hardware haha. I never really liked the reissues until I seen it with hardware. The reissues on the resale market are also only 500 over which is a lot. But nothing compared to 1,500 haha

Just saw this thread, so maybe you already got your bag :) but thought I'd chime in.
I have a medium reissue and a classic square mini. I find my mini super practical, I probably use it the most out of all my bags. I love the understated look of the reissue, but with the flap it's just too much for me to carry around for everyday. I think it's a little heavy and just a tiny bit bulky. I still love it, but I don't reach for it as often as I do for the square mini. I'm definitely going to buy a mini reissue because I love the look and because it's roomier than classic minis. I believe that it'll be the most practical bag for me once I manage to find one.
You'll be surprised that you actually can fit a lot in the square mini! Sometimes I take it to a short flight as my only bag (no additional tote) and it fits: glasses & sunglasses in soft cases, ID & cards, hand sanitizer, lipstick, mirror, phone, charger cable and 2-3 masks.

What is ur height? I will pick the mini reissue as u alread got a double flap.
I have couple of rectangular mini. While i love mine, the strap is too long for me. I once ordered square mini and returned it. It was super cute; strap length was perfect for me, but i just couldnt fit my phone and other stuff properly in it.
