Should I exchange my solitaire studs?

I’ve been wanting diamond solitaire studs for the longest time and shopped around at different boutiques, but somehow I really liked Tiffany’s the best. So I took home a pair — G VVS2 1.40 ctw. Shorty after, I went back to the boutique and exchanged them for an upgraded version of F’s with the same specs otherwise. Now I’m wondering if I should’ve upgraded it further to E or even D… I didn’t intend to keep spending this much on these earrings, but I also want to make sure I get a pair that will last me for years and years. One that I don’t regret or wish I would’ve done anything different with. Honestly, I think these look pretty when they are on the ear. I couldn’t tell as big of a difference between the G’s and F’s when they were on my ears. Only when I held them up next to each other. Does anyone have any advice or opinions?

Included pics are the F’s that I have now!

both pics are beautiful. I like the first ones, but I cannot really tell the difference. I would prefer to upgrade size wise. Bc jewelry shrinkage is real  In other words will 1.4 TCW last you for years and years would be the question I would ask
The F color are great as is! No need to change the color further--they look lovely. The question will be if you want to upgrade the size in the future, or do you feel fairly confident that the size is what you envisioned?
Would you recommend sizing up? I was feeling kind of confident about the size at the start, but now I’m wondering if I should go bigger? Too many options!

I think it’s worth trying on a larger size just to be sure you're completely happy with your purchase. This size looks perfect on you—any larger, and it might start to 'hang' from your ear. In the first photo, it looks like there's only about 1mm of skin visible below the earring. My piercings are also quite low, so I’ve found that larger studs tend to sit awkwardly, almost hanging off the earlobe.

💯, but worth a try. In another pic they look higher to me. I would honestly get a pair of larger CZ and wear for a week or so.

I do not think F will be appreciably different from E. You look petite (but not easy to tell from an ear pic lol) so 1.4 TCW I'm sure is lovely on you. I also think they are a very nice size for a young woman (I think I recall you are 20 something). As many have mentioned - as we get a little bit older we tend to go larger !

For earrings of this size I would easily recommend sticking with a G or even an H. No one is going to see them up close, not even you. There is no significant difference between F and G. Anything higher is overkill. You are paying significantly higher amount because you are going from "near-colorless" to "colorless." Make sure they are cut to perfection - the light they would reflect when cut perfectly would hide any color. If you must have white diamonds to be "mind-clean", I would stick with an F (still overkill for earrings of this size. Or generally, earrings, imo).

I tried on a 1.62 ctw (right side) and this is a comparison to my 1.40 ctw (left side). I do like the idea of going bigger, but I didn’t realize the basket would be so much bigger along with the stone. The 1.62s protrude out of my ear quite a bit more than the 1.40s which I don’t love as much :( Thoughts?

I really don’t think the size difference is noticeable and I think the ones you originally bought look better from a setting perspective plus you are more comfortable with them.

I like the idea of going bigger. I had the same problem with my studs. I have 2.52 tcw. I had them reset into martini setting. It’s flatter and looks so much better on my ear. There was no change to reset.
