Yes, this is the same pair of earrings from prior post. The diamonds are surprisingly good qualiy (D-F color).
And the setting is a bit old school - four prong but w/o the "basket". However the prongs are long and let a lot of light through the diamonds.

Initially I didn't care for the setting as I prefer white gold or platinum and was eyeing the "martinee" setting.

But after wearing these for a day and noticing how brilliant the studs are, they're rather growing on me. What would you do?

And would changing the setting harm the diamonds or depreciate the earrings? TIA!

The examples are from WF. Just wanted to show you the setting. Its called a "W" prong. Something interesting than the normal basket and 3 prong martini.

There has been some discussion on the site I gave you about 3 prong martini settings stretching the earlobe/ hole. I have taken my studs out because of this. You can ask the jeweler about a modified 3 prong martini that doesn't sit as a "V" at the base.

Resetting should not be an issue in terms of damaging the diamond. Just ensure you have a reputable jeweler! If the diamonds are insured that would be a plus. Also make sure you have a written agreement that if he damages the stones whilst setting he pays for the damages - best to cover all bases!

I'd change the setting personally. I don't like to see much metal at all on my studs - that's why I always choose 3-prong martinis. I've been wearing mine everyday for more than 2 yrs and my earholes are not stretching.
Take them out a night to keep your earhole nice and tight.

Changing settings will not harm the stones.
Also, light is reflected from the top . . . that's why bezel set stones are also very brilliant. Changing the setting will not affect how much or how the light is reflected.

You can set the earrings in which ever style that you prefer. Changing the setting in no way harms or depreciates the earrings or diamonds, it really just depends on the style that you prefer. I always preferred the 4 prong basket style set as flat as possible to sit closer to the ear, and really like the classic look but recently traded in 3 ctw studs for a 2.53 ctw pair of better quality and they didn't sit right on me in the basket so I had them changed to 3 prong martini and that made all the difference! They sit flat on the ear and you don't see a lot of metal, just the diamonds which is what I love.

I think I would just leave the existing setting, but then I'm not all that picky. I really don't think you can tell that much about the setting when the earrings are on, you really just see the diamonds unless they are bezel set or something.

I really don't think any stud would stretch your holes, unless they had abnormally thick posts. Usually holes stretch from a dangle earring getting pulled or caught in hair. This is how mine stretched, but it actually isn't all that bad. I can still wear all of my earrings.
