Should I adjust the length of my VCA 5 motifs?

Hi everyone,

I’m having a dilemma. I have this 5 motifs bracelet for and thinking if I should have some links removed. I have been wearing it by clipping the clasp at the last motif and let the motif hang. I have a 13.5 cm wrist.

Reasons I want to have it adjusted:

I don’t like the dangling motif. It kept hitting on my love bracelet or touching my palm when I try to work out

It’s way harder to clip it on the chain than the hoop I think as chain is thicker. It’s so painful to put on, even more so than putting on my love myself. Every time I try, it always comes so close but end up being a miss. (I’ve been practicing for almost a year now and I’m still bad at it) This is driving me bunkers

Reasons I don’t want to have it adjust

I don’t like the look of motifs being too closed to each other. It makes the motifs seem too large and it looks out of proportion. I can live with the motif spacing by only having 1 link (doubled) removed from each section. But bracelet would still be too big for me by removing 1 link and I might lose the option of clipping at the last motif.

I normally wear my chain bracelet in 6”. I found it to be a comfortable fit for me. Though it seems like I would have to remove at least 2 links each section to achieve that length. The spacing in between motifs would def be too narrow for my likings

I’d appreciate if you have any suggestions! Thank you all in advance

I just tried on their sizers in store two days ago. It was nice to see where the motifs would hit on my hand. I sadly didn't take a picture. The sales lady recommended between 5-6 links removed for me. When sized at Cartier I preferred the 16cm in the Love (love is not too tight on me in this size). I do not like bracelets loose at all and want them to look tailored but some movement/not tight (if that makes sense). If you can make go to a store they should have the bracelet sizers so you can try them on see what you prefer. Much easier than guessing.

I think you should have it shortened. I also stack my 5 motif with a JUC and Love and find it much less annoying now that I’ve shortened it. I think we have a similar size wrist, and I had 8 links removed so it would stay towards the top of my wrist and stop sliding underneath the other bracelets. I’m very pleased with the symmetry and love how the motifs look closer together. If you hate it after shortening, you can always have them add the links back on since they will return them to you.

Yes, shorten it. It doesn't look good to have the motif dangle. It just looks like it doesn't fit you, which it doesn't. Jewelry is not one size fits all which is why VCA has adjustments. It's like having pants too long and rolling them up, a big no.

I vote to shorten for sure.

thank you all for the suggestions! I will take my bracelet in and see what my SA says. I’m not sure if they sizer bracelets I’ll ask him too (I live in Vancouver, I found lots of things are not available here)

I tried the twist method to have the spacing shortened.Still not a fan. But it does feels way more comfortable when it’s more fitted

So glad you considering having it shortened. It pains me to see people twisting the chain. It causes scratching on the chain itself, which is such a shame as VCA polishes their chains so beautifully to get that shine. And the dangling along the edge of the palm would bother me too. I shorten all my bracelets super short, and I love seeing 2 1/2 motifs at one glance, but I know most people don't like super short bracelets.

Yes that’s why I don’t want to do the twist method. I did that earlier just to see how it looks to have the space narrowed lol. My only concern is have the motif too closed to each other. I’d rather have it shortened than twisting the links to scratch them! twisting doesn’t really stay either

having one motif hanging is getting really annoying to me. My SA said they do have sizer bracelet. I’m happy to try them on!

I agree. The twist looks sloppy, not elegant. Like a shoulder strap on a bag that is all twisted. Not a classy look. Shorten is best. You will love it once shortened... it will look great on you.

I’ve been doing a lot of homework in getting my first 5 motif bracelet. And I almost burst out my tea when I saw a YouTube video about twisting her bracelet
