Should I add rubber soles on new Ferragamo shoes?

I wore my Vara pumps for years until I put a vibram rubber sole on. Now they're like new, not slippery, and I won't have to worry about wearing my Varas in the rain

+1 I worry more about slipping and puddles than not allowing the sole to breathe...and I don't know any reliable cobblers who can replace the sole if worn out

Reading this made me think that perhaps I should be shopping shoes at H&M then. :confused1:

I live in the Nordics, which means that my Ferragamo shoes - like all my shoes - get rubber soles first thing they come home to me. In the climate I live in, this significantly extends the lifetime of shoes.
