Hello everybody,
maybe this is a stupid question, but I have a few short-sleeved office dresses (similar to this):

I am wondering, whether anyone is wearing these dresses in winter and with what: Long sleeves underneath, Blazer, Dress shirt?

I am happy for any ideas.

For true winter weather, possibly a very thin black sweater underneath with opaque hose and a slightly chunkier heel,
or a long sleeved white button down shirt underneath (possibly one of those wolford body suits for a smooth silhouette.
I think it’s sometimes tricky to convert a spring summer white dress into winter white, so it’s on a case by case basis

of course, anything underneath does channel a sort of school girl chic aesthetic

I tend to be heavy around my mid section so don’t normally layer like this.

it also depends on where you live. If you live in a temperate climate, i think styling is easier. a simple cardigan
or jacket over the dress,

@Antonia comes up with fabulous combos in the OOTD thread ; maybe she will chime in here

hope to see the combos you come up with

Very corporate/business dress.

If I wore something like this, I'd probably go for a more fitted blazer or a cropped tweed jacket or a cropped cardigan.

I say cropped for the tweed jacket or cardigan because I have shorter legs so with a cropped jacket, it's less likely to cut me off and make me look short.

Thank you @880 for the kind words! :hugs: I agree with @lill_canele here...since the dress is on the longer side, a cropped jacket would look great with it. On the opposite end of the spectrum, a short dress would look great with an oversized long blazer to offset. That dress is really pretty, I love the sleeve! I also think it would look better with a skinny belt, black sheer nylons and skinny high heel booties or a chunkier heel as @880 mentioned.

I wear dresses like this all winter -- usually with fleece tights and chunky or thigh-high boots instead of heels and sheer-like stockings. If the dress allows for it a turtleneck can sometimes go underneath, but it adds a lot of bulk. I personally use warm matching cardigans (short or long ones) over dresses instead of blazers and jackets -- it is winter and most people expect a warmer look. I guess it depends on what you're doing all day -- seated vs walking around -- you have more options for layering and keeping warm if you're sitting.

Thank you all! Concering Cardigans: what kind of cardigans do you wear, could anyone show me examples? I am on the fence about classic button down cardigans because i feel like it destroys the lines of the dress. What I am thinking about is that a lot of the office designers (for instance Hugo Boss or Victoria Beckham) sell short sleeved dresses for winter. I will take pictures of the dress in question.

I go for chunky, longer cardigans over dresses in winter and the woman modeling her outfit --she has my daily winter office look down perfectly. Just search Google and you'll get so many inspirational pics!

I wouldn't wear this style dress in NYC winter, unless it came with a matching jacket, or some other blazer I can pair with it, but that's bc I get cold. I'm not a fan of the cardi over shift dress look. You mentioned Boss, they make great dress and jacket sets.
