Short handle & lightweight tote under $1000

I’m looking for a nice, lightweight tote to replace the one pictured that my mom loves to tote around. No more than $1000.

She carries stuff like umbrella, hand wipes, water, etc.

Right now, her tote is a coated canvas or vinyl, but I would like to get her something nicer.

The key thing is: the handles can’t be too long because my mom likes to hand-carry this type of bag and it must be able to handle some usage and abuse.

Any recommendations appreciated!! Thank you all!

If she already has Longchamp and you want something different, these Balenciaga totes come to mind. The Paris Bazar tote is only $695 on Fashionphile. You may also want to search for striped Bazar totes. The small size seems to be similar to your mom’s.

I vouch for that! I have a Longchamp 3D backpack and it’s incredibly light for an all leather backpack (only the straps are fabric). It also looks quite different from the regular Longchamp lines.

Longchamp has several leather options and most are very lightweight. Check out the Roseau line, it’s as classic to Longchamp as the le Pliage totes but much “nicer.”
