I’m going on a trip to Japan (my first!!) in the winter and was looking at picking up a few more pieces this year. Any tips or advice buying Tiffany’s in Japan to save? Especially since the yen is weak right now or is it not really much different from purchasing in the US? Any stores with better customer experience, more variety, interesting things to see, etc.

I’m interested in charms too and making a charm bracelet so JP/region specific charms would be amazing, but I don’t know if they exist.

I’ve heard that the NYC Landmark location has special packaging so curious if there’s anything similar in Japan that would be worth going to a specific store?

Yay for your first time in Japan! You’re gonna have a blast (:

I bought the Lock necklace in pink sapphire last November at the Omotesando location. That’s my favorite store so far because I like that shopping area and it’s a new store (opened in Sept 2023). The SA’s were super awesome—they had 6 pieces in stock and brought all of them out to let me pick!! I got chocolates and Tiffany Bird on a Rock bag charm as gifts. At that time the Omotesando store was the only one in Japan selling the Rose limited edition items…

I did save a generous amount thanks to the exchange rate and tax refund. In Japan they charge the price without tax so the whole purchase experience is super hassle free. Tiffany Japan already had a couple of price increases since last winter but you should still be able to save quite a bit.

I don’t know much about charm bracelets. Check out the flagship store in Ginza? I’m only familiar with Tokyo area so not too sure about Kansai region…

Oh also you can browse Tiffany Japan’s website and check the inventory at each location for most items.

I've been to many Tiffany's stores in Tokyo, Yokohama, Kobe, Osaka in January. I agree Omotesando one is huge, they recently opened it with celebrities and all. All collections are there, but not the newest releases, Japan falls a bit behind IMO. Shinjuku one is tiny but it's very friendly.
Every upscale department store has Tiffany's corner. They are usually small and carry limited inventory.
Tax free paperwork is different. In Tiffany stores they'll do it on the spot, in department stores they'll send you to another floor where you can submit paperwork for refund in a tax refund office. It used to be crowded bec all tourists buying from many brands in store line up there.
Packaging is outstanding everywhere.

Thank you!!! I'm super excited! I totally forgot about tax refunds! Thinking about saving the purchases I was thinking of making for when I got to Japan. Checking the Tiffany Japan website is such a good idea! I'll make sure to check it out and do some preplanning!!

It's super nice to hear the SA's are amazing! So many of the SAs I've met in my state are so rude or don't give me and my sister the time of day and I was hearing from a luxury youtuber about her Japan trip and she had some very hit or miss experiences shopping in Japan.

Ooo!!! I'll try to go to the direct store instead of the department stores then thank you!! It's interesting that they have them inside department stores! I'm so used to them being their own store.

I was curious about packaging since the NYC Landmark has a special metal tag you get from shopping there. I saw in reviews for Ginza some people had this cute metal tag with its bird and jewel so I was wondering if there was anything else like this for different stores (attached a pic)!

My step mom purchased a Diamonds by the Yard bracelet similar to this one except in yellow gold and the aquamarine is replaced by a diamond. There was also a version with a pearl instead. We found it in the Narita boutique.

I'm visiting the one in Umeda, the one in Herbis plaza, do they charge the price without tax, or do I have to go the office?
