Shopping in San Francisco?

I am traveling to San Francisco this weekend and very eager to pick up a Belvedere PM from the Union Square location!

Does anyone know if appointments are still required? I submitted a request via the website and heard nothing. Tried calling today to confirm but no answer. I did send an email, waiting to hear back.

Has anyone visited recently? I would also love an SA recommendation if possible. Should I expect a line, or difficulty getting in as a walk up if nothing else works out? We're only in SF a short bit before driving up to Napa, really hoping I can get in!

TIA!

I was in San Francisco at the end of April. I walked into the boutique with no appointment and was assisted immediately by a wonderful SA named Giles. I purchased a Bellechasse- the entire experience was wonderful! There was one other customer in the store when I was there.
Enjoy your visit!

@bagshopr Would you be able to share his contact?

Thank you, this is very helpful!! Do you happen to have the contact info for your SA to share? I want to cover all my bases because our trip is so short, haha.

Not sure if appts are required at this boutique, but I walked past goyard yesterday and saw a small line outside.

If it helps you at all, I went to another boutique nearby yesterday that was by appt only. At 2pm, their only availability was 4pm…so worse case scenario, go early and try to get a same day appt. Good luck!

Appointments are better if you don't want to wait. You can walk in without an appointment, but may have to wait in line for a bit depending on how many people are inside/ and SA availability.

Thank you.Yup 100 on appt. I live 2.5 hrs away from SF and I would love to take an appointment along with knowing if the product is available but hoping to see if I can get a response

I am clueless about Goyard, but saw your mention of heading to Napa. There is a big fire up there and there are evacuations. If you are going to a hotel, I would check with them about the situation. I would also get road conditions from CalTrans. You can also check website of Napa County - fire is called the Old Fire - looks like they are at 20% containment and they are lifting some of the evacuation orders. CalFire is also a good website to check.

hope all goes well!

@terithegreat theres no appt in goyard SF it seems. I went in store and there was a small line because Giles was the only one with customers. About 20 mins. You can also order via email and pickup.it’s their generic email for which I never got response . I let him know that and he apologized as they get 100s per day. Anyway my bag was not available but Good luck to you

I’ve been to this Goyard a handful of times this year and most recently, a few hours ago. As for my experience, I just fell in line as I never got a reply (appointment request) on my first rodeo which was February of this year all other three times I waited in line outside. I went a few minutes before opening (weekend), once a few minutes before closing (weekday), and 11-ish-- all times I only had to wait an average of 15 minutes. Though on one weekend, around 2PM, I had to wait in line for 30-40 minutes. It really depends on how long the people inside shopping/being assisted. All SAs I‘ve gotten help from were so very nice. Only have lovely experiences with Jaye, Giles, and Venus as SAs. They were all very accommodating— even getting pieces for us to check even when I was blatantly holding them back. Never felt rushed in any of my visits even when I only planned (ended up getting more) on getting a card holder one time. Had some pieces personalized and so far lead time is two months. Though, I’ve had one which I have to wait five months for. I hope this helps.

Yeah unfortunately they don't seem to pick up the phone at this location. My SA there told me they just let the phone ring because they're so busy every day. Best way to make an appointment is to send an email to their SF location email address, and then wait. In the past when I was new to the brand, they took maybe 2-3 days to reply initially to me and after making a relationship with the SA, they would reply daily to me.

But you should be able to walk-in just fine. Back in October (last time I went to the boutique), they had full stock of all the bags and colors. I assume they tend to have a lot of stock at this location, so I think you should be okay as a walk-in if needed!

I’m so bummed that I didn’t have a happy experience at the SF store last night. I was outside in line for about 15 mins & after getting in, I spent maybe 20 mins inquiring their new items (I haven’t shopped this brand in years but I do own several items, purchased from Paris).

After deciding on a clutch and color, I found a tiny ding on the leather, so the SA (Venus) went to look for another one in the back. While waiting, I continued to inspect the defect to see if it could be acceptable to me. If not, I planned to order and prepay for another one to come (as Venus told
me about this option). Then not sure where the store manager (Jay) came from, he approached me and said something like, “if you’re not going to like it, you’re not.” He said I could order a new one but I can think about it and call them back.

To me, it sounded like they want me out of the store, because my purchase is small and I took too much of their time. I guess with the aggressive shoppers nowadays, people just go into designer stores and splurge quickly, and clearly this store has no tolerance for slow buyers. They never even offered to take a closer look at the defect of their own product. Goodbye
