Shipping a bag

My friend in the UK is shipping a bag to the US to me. Which delivery company is best or most reliable for this? My biggest worry is that the package might get lost or stolen.

For oversea packages I like DHL or Fed Ex. I just had a delivery from a company called Brodie Cashmere from UK and they used Fed Ex and it got to me just fine (im in NY).

I know that for my country the national postal service is the best in claims etc. plus they are usually a lot cheaper, even with full insurance.
