I am desperately searching for comfortable sheer tights in both black and nude. I've been extremely picky about tights since I was toddler (I distinctly remember having tantrums whenever I had to put them on in nursery school). I recently started buying Wolford, which I love, but the sheer pairs ripped after one or two wears. I'm willing to spend $60+ on their heavier duty tights that last, but refuse to pay this much only to have them rip so soon after buying. Does anyone have recommendations for comfortable sheer stockings, with no control tops?

Donna Karen sheers are great. Not super cheap but I feel like they don't feel "scratch" which I find many of the lesser brands do. Have you tried the 40den by wolford? I've had a pair last me a while, they have a sheer appearance. I would only suggest it in black though

Thanks so much for the recs! I'm hesitant to spend any more than $10 per pair on sheer stockings given my experience with how even the high end ones rip so easily. I have other styles of Wolford tights in 50den, but they're quite opaque on me as I have very thin lower legs. I think I need a weight of like 10-15.

Shockingly, Hanes Sheer Reflections are the only ones that last for me. I hate tights but these feel comfortable, dont rip and dony give off that shiny hint in photos. The barely there color is a perfect bronzed nude.

I just bought 3 pairs of these - two in black and one in nude, along with 2 pairs of nude stockings from a brand called MeMoi. I got all 5 pairs for $30! Will report back after I've worn.

I agree with Falke Shelina. You don‘t even see them they‘re so sheer and comfortable. However, I think they are only suitable for warm weather.

Wearing the Hanes today. The legs are comfortable but the waist digs in to me a bit, even though it is not a control top. I tucked my blouse into them to minimize the pinching, and that seems to help. Not a perfect solution, but will do for now. Now I see why the Wolford tights are so expensive - they are far superior in comfort, but I just can't bear to shell out the money for them if they rip in one or two wears like any drugstore brand would.
