Hi, ladies! I just bought a white mini stud Celeste at my local outlet last weekend and I noticed that the creed patch doesn't show the serial number. I thought this was odd, since all of the factory bags I've ever seen have the letter "F" on the creed patch followed by the serial number of the bag. And all of my full-price bags also have the serial number listed on the creed patch (without the "F" of course). Is this something that recently changed? And is it just MFF bags that no longer have the serial number on the creed patch, or is that true of FP bags as well? If an FP bag is at an outlet, will it still have the little target stamp on the creed patch to signify that it's a FP delete? Just wondering what's going on! LOL! Thanks!

Ever since Vevers took over, from the Smythe bags, Rhyder, etc., they have all been without serial numbers on the creed. So I would say that's been the case since September 2014.

I have not bought any new bag with creed in a few months, just wristlets that normally do not have it, but IIRC I read somewhere that the tags sewn in the interior seam, has a number on them, please correct me if wrong :smile1:

This took me by surprise too. I bought a Carlyle at the last Factory online sale and was surprised to see a bag with no number on the creed.

I can understand people's consternation...Not too long ago I sold one of my unused bags; the buyer contacted me after receiving the item, and called it a fake because there was no style number on the creed. Then she said the lining felt "cheap" (this is on some of Vevers bags that used a linen-feeling interior, instead of satin), and clamored for a refund. I told her to check at the store to see what the bags are like now; thankfully she took my advice, and realized I spoke the truth.

I didn't know it was a Vevers thing... that makes total sense. I FREAKED out when I double-checked the Borough bag photos on my ebay purchase... no serial number on the creed, when my earlier-generation boroughs (the ones without the feet and turnlock, etc) very obviously have them.
