Serial code label repair

Hi guys I bought a Chanel gabrielle backpack pre loved from handbag clinic - wasn’t disclosed that the serial sticker “tab” came off so I found it in the pocket. Is this normal to come off is it something Chanel can fix and stick or sew back on?

Do you think this impacts the value of the bag a lot, should I ask for some kind of compensation? More annoyed that they didn’t disclose it . Still waiting to get this authenticated by Zeko anyway… thanks in advance everyone ! 5FD926D9-86DB-49A7-B1BA-6D22F5D76E4E.jpeg

Most bags have them directly sewn to the lining of the bag or pocket. Since it was preloved, do you know if--perhaps--the lining was ever replaced? I would think there would be a small tear or hole or something where the sticker would have been. There is no way of knowing if that sticker actually belongs to that bag; they could have provided a sticker that doesn't originally belong to that bag but just one of the same color.

I don’t think the code is from a different bag. Just a question whether it was normal… do you think this affects the value of the bag? They are insisting it doesn’t but are offering to attach it back to the bag, which I believe is worse as they are not Chanel affiliated… what do you think about asking them to stick it back for peace of mind? I asked them for some kind of price adjustment given they never disclosed this, but right now they are saying that they didn’t have to because it is still in “excellent condition”

I found where it was attached too. Unsure if they cut it or it just fell/ ripped off? Love the bag a lot and am still waiting for Zeko. More just unsure on the resale value and the price I paid given I didn’t know it was removed/ detached? :(

Now it does happen where the sticker can come off the tab, but I've never seen a tag literally ripped out of a lining. Can you see the spot where it tore off? Did it have the Authenticity Card? Does it match?
I don't know how I feel about them denying an adjustment, on one hand, there is no difference in look and function of the bag, however you try to sell it, you will have to take a lower price because of it, if you can sell it as people will most likely think something is fishy.
I don't know the place you purchased from but I do find it weird that this was undisclosed. Were there pictures of it in the listing or site?

Yes I’ve found where it tore off. Looks to be in the right place.. authenticity card number matches. Yes I agree it will affect resell value and I’m more annoyed that they are not just owning up to not disclosing and refusing to give any compensation for the poor disclosure. Instead they keep denying that it’s even an issue and that it doesn’t affect the value of the bag, which now really doesn’t seem to the case. I am very torn given bits a white and black backpack and I won’t know if I’ll be able to find this combo again.

Hmmm thanks for the link. That actually seems like a pretty decent price, depends on how you feel the overall condition of the bag is in person. Zeko is pretty quick. If it's for sure authentic then you can decide.
You are pretty trusting though lol, not too many pics on there to go by and no picture of hologram or card would be an immediate no from me.

Yes am trusting given i thought they are quite a big reseller in the UK, honestly I didn't even think to ask them about the hologram because I thought 'excellent' meant that! - They did sell me a fake before but they handled it well... thought I'd give them another try given I have been looking for this bag for ages... Sent clearer photos to Zeko, will let you guys know the outcome.

Zeko came back saying it’s authentic but also said that the tag being off affects the value. She mentioned trying to get it stuck back on if I want to sell it in the future. What do you guys think?
I dont worry about the 'value' of items I buy as long as a pay a price I am happy with and can afford.
But I dont buy for investment or with a view to reselling eventually.
I only buy items I love and intend to keep.
You could scratch the bag or stain it through use and the value will be affected then..
If it makes you happy getting the tag sewn back on do so.
Ultimately its your bag and you need to feel happy with it..others opinions are immaterial
