I just received my midi maestra bag last week and was ecstatically waiting for it to arrive. The reason I'm here, however, is I felt the need to share that I was highly disappointed at the price vs. quality. If you're used to LV, Gucci -- this bag is a little 'cheap'. However, if you don't compare it to the bigger names -- then it's a really nice made in china looking bag. It is not my intention to sound rude or mean -- it's the only way I can think of to get that sense out.

It seemed like a $400 to $495 dollar bag (max), not counting its design -- which is why I was attracted to the bag. However, my friends thought it was Made in China. Once I opened the dustbag, I thought it was a very well made bag (from China). There was nothing italian to it -- if you're thinking of Italian = Gucci at the least. Sure the bag's structure is solid (not as in "solid good" but as in "solid frame" -- it doesn't really budge / it's not supple.)

I watched some youtube video and the person was saying the bag smelled so new. However, she forgot to go further and say it smelled chemically. It's not 'leather' smell. Minor point -- but also another factor I didn't appreciate the $800+ bag.

To top it off, I received a defective bag. My top strap was not straight when unbuckled. It slanted to the left (minor but can't unsee the ruined aesthetic), which was because the strap is only sewn to the bag on a very small surface area. Imagine, you have a long strap (that is to be buckled in front) -- but it's only connection to the bag on a tiny area (1/4 of a square inch). So that connection wobbles and gets loose. It's just poorly designed for one of the main functions of the bag, which is to hold the bag closed!.

Anyway, returned it. It was a total waste of time. Got sucked into the 'instagram' of it all. Plus as I did more research it got upsetting to see that any old youtuber (1000 subbies, 4000 subbies) got the bag for free. I'm not saying this as hate -- if I were the youtuber, I'd be ecstatic and I'm happy they got a free bag. Now on the flip side -- I had to pay 800 (actually over $1000 because of shipping and taxes to my country) for this italian made hype? It's clearly not worth that.

All that said, I also must say I do like the look of the bag. Perhaps when it goes on sale for 50% off -- I may get it again.

Thank you for the pic. I just ordered the mini in dolce leather. I previously ordered the mini and returned it because the color didn’t meet my expectations. I also ordered and returned the Aria. Your experience will help me inspect the bag.

Wish I saw this before I bought and returned mine as well! I bought it in the mimosa leather, and it looked so ugly up close. The texture was rough and uneven colored, it also felt more like rubber than leather. And I really couldn't get over the plastic/chemical smell. It looked so cute from far away but I don't want to carry that smelled bad and felt bad.

Now I'm looking for another convertible backpack purse that has similar features. If anyone has ideas I'm all ears!
