If I were to pick only 1 I would pick the satchel. I love having the handles. But I think the messenger is a totally diff bag as it's meant to be worn when you are carrying less stuff and when you just need a crossbody bag:)

I prefer the satchel over the messenger. I find myself having a tough time fitting all of my essentials in the messenger. I also like that the satchel has handles and the additional long strap for over-the-shoulder wear when you need two free hands. I like the look of the satchel over the messenger as well. The only messengers I like have the studs. Without them, I find it a bit too plain, as the Selma satchel already has minimal hardware and the messenger even less.

I definitely prefer the satchel over the messenger. I like having the handles.

Do any of you wear the Satchel as a crossbody? Feels like it sits high on me....that's why I am thinking of punching holes in the strap.
There's only about 3 inches of extra room on the shoulder strap to punch holes, so you can probably only get an extra 2 holes on there. But if you're on the shorter side, this might just be enough to have it sit properly for crossbody wear. I think the large Selma is too big for crossbody wear, but I've seen others wear the medium Selma crossbody and I think it looks good if it hits you at the right place.

It sits a bit higher than I'd like it to on me and I'm 5'3". I would like an extra hole or 2, but I like having that option if I need to carry it crossbody, it's very handy. I normally carry it handheld or on the shoulder:smile1:
