selling non-Hermes bags to fund H

Moderators, please move this if you feel necessary...

I've decided to clear out my closets to fund more H (:P), and was wondering where others have had the best success with de-accessing non-H bags, such as Chanel and LV. Would you split these to different consigning specialists (that is, Chanel to a chanel specialist, and LV to an LV specialist?)

Although we have our own trusted re-sellers for H listed on our sub-forum, to whom should we turn to sell our non-H items? I'm sure I'm not the first one to try to do this, so where have you had the best success (both in selling and in contract arrangements)? I'm specifically asking about established consignors---no direct ebay selling for me!!!

I would certainly start with the trusted H reseller list - many of them sell other lines as well, and could probably help you. I'd also try to figure out how quickly their merchandise moves. Some resellers price high and the items are slower to move, while others price more reasonably and the items sell quickly. I've worked with two resellers, and it's really important to find out what their policies are, and to ascertain how you feel about them in general. There are lots of good ones out there - good luck with your search!

Kipp, I'd sell Chanel with known Chanel resellers and Louis Vuitton with Vuitton resellers if possible. Chanel lovers know their Chanel resellers just like we know our beloved H resellers...same with LV. You may want to check the Chanel and LV forums for suggestions. Best of luck!!

I think Sam@haute gallery ([email protected]) was originally an LV specialist; I read about another tpfers good experience consigning with Ann's Fabulous FInds. The only thing I consigned was an LV manhattan bag with A Second Chance resale -- they pay cash for LV; and, Jemznjewels is very nice. After the aggravation of consigning, though, and the ebay horror stories, I just ended up giving bags to my mom's assistant :smile: good luck!

Hi Kipp, you may want to consider Let-Trade...they buy a number of brands and when they accept the bags, paid right away (you don't have to wait till they are sold)...they are lovely to deal with IMO. Good Luck :smile:
