I have been trying to decide how to sell my bag and some of the stories I am reading here and really concerning. I have looked into consignment, but most of the places take 20% to 30% and I honestly think that is high. Can you guys please give me tips to protect myself against fraud and scammers. I have a selling account on Ebay, and I have only sold a Louis Vuitton bag, which went fine and the buyer was great. I really appreciate any help or advice I can get. Thanks.

I would consider no international shipping... I would ship with a tyvek band

or some type of security band...would definitely check out the buyer's

bid history on toolhaus & probably video the packaging of the bag

with the weight from the shipper & would think there might be others that

would chime in with suggestions..

What is a Tyvek Band and where do I get one?

Definitely agree with hotshot. When I sold my Louis, I packaged it at the post office while a friend videotaped it, including a clear shot of the package after the label was printed. Also, make sure to buy insurance for the full amount and signature confirmation.

You can by a tyvek band/ security hangtag at Staples

Consignment is a good option butyou just have to hope that your bag

comes back to you in the condition that you gave it if it doesn't sell..

How about selling it outright to a Chanel re-seller??

Cool. I will check out the Tyvek. What do you mean by Chanel Re-Seller?
Pardon my ignorance.

Do you guys think I should just go consignment and get less back for the peace of mind?

That would be my advice yes. Sure you get less back but then you have far less hassles as well. Unfortunately Chanel items are so expensive that they tend to attract more of the scamming practices. I personally wouldn't sell anything via eBay that I couldn't afford to lose on.
