I spent some time at the mall last night and came up empty. I travel a lot for work and often have my carry-on suitcase, laptop bag, and a small black purse. For boarding purposes I squish my purse into my laptop bag, they are similar material (total coincidence) and it works fine. However, I'm about to be on a weeklong meeting and am concerned that my semi-squishy Giani Bernini 5 year old purse from Macy's may not be cutting it. (I use a much nicer bag at home! Just try not to travel with anything expensive). Size-wise the Lo&Sons Pearl is perfect but the one time I bought it I turned around and returned it as the strap just seemed so thin. Wishing I had bought this Tory Burch bag a while back but it is long gone (I have it in gray with a silver zipper, didn't buy black as I hate gold accessories). https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/tory-b...n&sp_campaign=order_confirm_042018_proddescr1

On the off chance anyone is willing to recommend a black and silver bag that is small enough I can shove in my laptop bag, the laptop bag (if it matters) can be found here: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B004C54C5I/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Side note - love love love the laptop bag if anyone is looking for one!

Is there an issue with using the grey Tory Burch? Have you thought of using a color other than black, maybe?

My fear is that knowing myself I'll manage to have an uncapped ink pen or something in the bag and manage to mark up the TB purse (it's a really light gray). With what I spent on it I'd be crushed to get ink on it, so far I've been saving it more for fancy nights out. It seems like the equivalent TB would be this:

But there is so much gold and I'm not sure if the gold chain is professional enough? I was also eyeing this MZ Wallace https://www.mzwallace.com/shop/prod...all-crosby-crossbody/9639.html?cgid=crossbody and then realized it's Nylon, not leather, and not sure how that will look or hold up.

LC LP Cuir Mini is just amazing. After a year of owning one it's still my favorite small bag and I doubt it will ever lose the #1 spot. It's amazingly roomy and the leather is so light it feels like it weighs nothing.

Also I might recommend a black Coach Dinky or a Coccinelle Best. Love both - I own the Best and it's so unbelievably squishy and soft and roomy and OMG. It's one of those bags that looks and feels so good to dig out of your closet and take it with you. It has two straps which are both removable so you can carry it on your shoulder, as a wristlet or a clutch. If you're petite it will also do well as a crossbody bag.

Giani Bernini bags actually hold up well - we have 2 in the family. I'd look into the black Fossil Devon... all leather, squishy/soft enough to pack into something else, triple compartments, and understated enough for work and meetings. Excellent price point too. You can remove the key and just the zips are burned gold, not bright gold. Pic from Google images.

Check ebags.com

They have a huge selection of small black handbags.

Coach used to sell a small bag, the demi pouch in black signature and black leather too.

I can't think of anything else off the top of my head for small handbags.

Hope you find something you like!!! Update us with photos once you find something!! ☺
