Is this messenger too masculine or dated on me? Excue the outfit - I would style it better when worn. It seems functional but DH thinks I can do better for the price and the chatter about change in location of manufacture to MIC is a concern

I don't think it looks dated at all. Prada nylon is beautiful. I have a few Prada nylon bags, and through the years they have been the most used bags I own. For quick runs and long days I always pick up my Prada nylon. It is durable, lightweight, and Prada has a look that is somehow able to help you look put together. I do think they have increased their price so much, but if you like it you will for sure get so much use out of it because its so practical. For example, you can probably get something nice at LV for the same price, but it will not be as understated as a prada nylon, which is what makes it great for everyday runs. HTH!

I have six or more Prada messengers that are 12+ years old and still are in perfect condition. I had one get slammed by a wave at the beach many years ago. All the contents were dry as a bone and after the outside dried, I just brushed the salt from the water. My red messenger was taken out to a pick-your-own strawberries field. I took it off, tossed it on the ground a few feet of me while I picked berries. It usually landed in squashed strawberries. Wiped it with a wet cloth when I got home still good as new. My 12 year old messenger is black and uber cool in the design. It's my go to bag for travel or any occasions I need both hands free.

Bear in mind these are basically vintage bags, all Made in Italy (when they were made in Italy). Prices were infinitely more reasonable than the obscene prices now for these Made in China bags. Even the Made in Italy ones are too expensive. The quality has gone into the toilet as the prices go up.

All this said, I only buy Prada on the secondary market these days. Being a Prada authenticator, I'm safe buying on the secondary market. If you decide to go that route, always post it on the Authenticate This thread so one of the three of us can have a look.

It doesn't look dated to me. Prada nylon bags are very durable and casual. You can use it everyday without having to baby the bag. It will last a lifetime and the hardware does not tarnish easily (at least in my bag). You can use as travel bag too. :amuse:

Hi,

I hope it's ok to jump on this thread, but when I went to post it came up with a similar question.

I have recently bought a Prada Messenger bag (Preloved) I love the feel of it but now am questioning whether this a Ladies or Gents bag and am unsure whether to wear it or not! I have seen it listed as both a Mens and Womans.
Can anyone advise please?

Thank you.Prada Messenger.jpg

I don't think it really matters, if you like it you should just wear it. I love that style and its universally stylish so just go for it

I think this bag is perfectly unisex. Probably more appealing to men than women. But come on, it's a bag! Wear what you like, who cares what gender it was 'intended' for.

You love it, that's all that matters!! Enjoy wearing!!!!!!
I always search the men's and travel depts. So many bags are unisex. Classification is irrelevant to me.
