Seeking advice re Hermes FJ bracelet in gold

Hello my dear fellow TPFs,

I am interested in your opinions on a yellow gold bracelet I hadn’t seen before and tried on in my home store this week. I was initially interested in the RG Kelly Gourmette, but they didn’t have it in stock, so my SA brought me this piece I hadn’t seen before. Of course I know that in the end it is my decision to make but I wanted some honest opinions from your knowledgeable eyes my family and friends have mixed reviews on it hehe

One thing I am skeptical about is - it is YG and I almost always wear RG.

But on the other hand it is more dainty than the K.G. So I am considering it.

What do you think about it?

Also - any experiences with the Kelly closure on fine jewelry (I do only own a few leather Kelly double tours)

I would pass at least for now. This piece was not originally on your radar and is daintier than the gourmette.

Most importantly, you prefer RG.

Keep your eye on the prize — wait for the RG gourmette for now.

At minimum, I would pause from purchasing anything and think of what I want my FJ collection to ultimately look like and go from there.

I think you have a cooler skin tone so it looks like yellow gold clashes a bit. Also since you have tattoos on your wrist, which is blue, I think there's some extra clashing in color there with the yellow gold. If you're unsure, I would hold off from purchasing it and wait for the RG one.

I only have the Kelly bracelet/bangle in RG and I've never had a problem with the clasp coming undone while I'm out and about.

I have the Kelly gourmette in rose gold and it looks like it has the same type of closure. I have not had any issues with the turn lock opening when it's not supposed to, and I wear it constantly and do not take it off. I was concerned at first that the closure would not be secure, but so far so good!

I like the Kelly chaine bracelet that she showed you as well, and I have the Kelly chaine necklace in YG. I mostly wear RG too but the YG is very similar to the RG in color. I was originally going to say that if you plan on stacking rose gold bracelets, you may not want the YG since the color difference may be more noticeable next to each other, but then I went and put on my YG necklace next to my RG gourmette had honestly I don’t really see a big difference lol! So I guess get the chaîne if you like it, but if you think you would still want a gourmette, then maybe wait for that. Or you could get both lol.

NMS. Messy looking. You already have a permanently tattooed bracelet. The gold bracelet has too much going on and is lost amongst the ink. If I had a tattoo like yours, I would not wear a bracelet at all. Saved you some money!

1. Would you wear it on that wrist? Because it does get lost against the tattoo, unfortunately, and if it's pricey that would be a shame for it not to shine as brightly as it could.

2. if the clasp is heavy it will fall to the bottom and not stay on top of the wrist.

I almost always wear RG.

I would wait. I also think a link chain is lost next to the tattoo, and would wear it on the other arm, but JMO

I think the grommet fits your tattoo better. The other ones too dainty. Doesn’t go with the vibe, imho.
