Kind of confused. After payday come Friday, I will be able to buy the smallest stainless steel cartier BB... I have always planned on buying the BB and a second love. I was going to wait for someone to purchase the second love if that was able to happen, but to be realistic that's likely not going to happen for a long time. However the person I am currently dating offered to purchase a nice fashion watch (prob a Michael Kors or a dept store "fine watch", which would mean I could buy a second hand bangle/cuff. I always planned on buying both on my long term wish list but was originally going to do 1 bangle, 1 watch then later second bangle. What would you do? And thanks in advanced! I always feel better about my purchases when I consult my lovely PFers !

I think you should follow your original plan. It sounds like you may be settling a bit, and I am concerned that long term your may regret that decision. If you have been saving for the watch first, then get that and then you can maybe have your SO contribute to your second love instead of him buying it completely. That would be another option. I only say don't settle, because I do that and then still want what I originally wanted anyway and wasted money in the process. Good luck with your decision, they are of course beautiful pieces and you can't go wrong with either choice, BB or Love.

Hi! Thanks for your input! I don't think id even be comfortable with him chipping into the bangle... He starts a 6 year residency next year so he's still on loans, I could never take anything like that from him, I know if we go down the road eventually one day over a decade from now he'd love to treat me to a diamond one. So now I'm wondering if I should go for the two love look now, and stick with a gold tone watch. I love the look of gold watches, especially against my skintone... But the BB I could only afford in the SS and I love the shape and look, so I honestly would be happy with the cuff I think, but the issue would be the watch. Mad at the same time I eventually plan on having a second love and cartier. My other issue is, I heard they are discontinuing the cuff? That worries me to not be able to get it down the road.. So idk what I should do. I think one day in terms of my SO I could accept a second hand love ring, but it comes down to what would be the smartest or idk I'm very confused by these options lol... I attached some pictures of my love and trying on the BB. I really enjoy the celebrity photos of two love stacked, and at the same time I enjoy simplicity of the one love bangle on me. If I sound like I don't want the watch, forgive me, I've for years been in love with the BB as well

My first thought is that of course you need a good watch, the second Love can wait. But do you wear a watch everyday? Is it something that you will wear all the time? If you will wear it all the time I'd say go for the BB and start saving for the cuff. But if you just feel like you should have a good watch but might not necessarily be in love with wearing it, or it might sit in your jewelry box, don't do it. Personally, I wouldn't be happy with wearing a fashion watch when the Cartier was possible. And the small BB is soooo pretty. I think I would get something different before I'd get another Love. It is a tough decision!

Hmm..after looking at your pics. I like the BB, but I just love the way the love looks on your wrist....no pun intended. Hehe! Your right! It is definitely a tough decision. And even tougher when you love both pieces. Do you wear a watch daily now or do you use your phone to keep time? I am personally not a watch person so much, so it would be an easy decision for me. How small is your wrist? I know you mentioned pre-owned. I saw a rose gold love cuff on Ann's Fab Finds, size 16 and they have a lay-a-way option too, so you can stretch your budget a little.

I used to wear a watch everyday- mainly a Michelle diamond SS caber, I tried to sell it last month and the postal service lost it! And still won't refund me, and unfortunately I insured it lower than it was worth, I did the amount they paid not the new worth of the watch... So that ate up my budget. While I wore it almost everyday I did find myself taking it off, I think it was slightly too snug, and since it's a thicker watch and I have a small wrist it would get uncomfortable sometimes. So right now I don't have a watch as I sold my movado as well, so idk what to do. I do miss wearing a watch, and love watches, but the more and more I see girls wearing gold tone watches I've loved the look- which is my only drawback of the BB. I love how elegant the Bb watch is, just glam enough without being too stuffy. And then I also lover te look of two loves, so I'm not sure, I have found myself missing wearing a watch, and I've found myself longing for a set of bangles

Yes that's the kind I am looking for- but it's only within my budget, I was always planning on buying a second hand cuff, my love was from the boutique. I do love watches, and I don't like not wearing a watch lately, but I find myself drawn to the gold tone watches everyone is wearing these days, and at the same time I've always been obsessed with that picture of Jennifer garner with the two love bangles and watch in the same tone. Oh lemmings!

Believe me! I completely understand. :D A gold tone watch would suit your complexion perfectly. The rose gold love looks great on you, so at least you know if you go that route it would be a good decision.

Well if you're after the look of 3 gold pieces right now then get the cuff and a fashion watch. If you have to wait to get a gold BB and a cuff it'll take too long!

With the way the Love bracelets go up in price each year, I would get a 2nd Love and wait on the watch. Also, if you buy the watch from an authorized dealer (non-Cartier boutique) they typically give discounts, even on Cartier. I have a Cartier watch but also have a large, white Michael Kors watch that I also enjoy wearing! It's just a fun piece to put in the mix!

Good luck and keep us posted!

That's the funny part, the second hand cuff is about the same price as the new BB with the authorized dealer discount, so I couldn't even rule it out that way!

I'm no Cartier expert but I think the Love bracelets go up in price at a faster pace than the watches.
