Maybe this is linked to the minimalist closet but I´ve been trying for years to limit my style to a capsule wardrobe of high quality items, and limit the amount of purchases....But I keep being tempted and end up buying some trendy additions from fast fashion.

Anyways, I´ve also tried to buy second hand mostly for high quality, brand items from Vestiaire Collective (I´m in Europe). This year I got sandals from Isabel Marant, sunglasses from Celine, white Shirt from Vivetta...They were all like new though.
I also try other local apps / websites but there isn´t as much choice.
When it comes to selling I find I can only sell online highly desired brands...So I was selling my Toteme, Acne Studios things 1 by 1 online for 1/5 of the price. But any other brands like Zara, &otherstories, Cos worked better if I rent a shelf at a consignment store. But then I need a big chunk of items to sell in one go!
And usually I only sell here and there 2-3 things. If the item is worth less than 15€ I give it to charity.
On Vinted I am trying to sell a pair of perfect condition wool shorts from Maje (130€ new) for 12 €....guess who comes with price offers of 7€?? I´m like why even bother you know??

Do you ever bother selling your clothes? Where and how?
Do you ever buy second hand? where from?

I don't bother selling my clothes piece by piece - what you end up getting back is (IMO) not worth the time. I get the prepaid label from TheRealReal (I loathe them but they make selling easy) and toss everything in there. I get a fraction of an item's worth, but I never have to think about it ever again. If it's a brand they don't take, I donate it to charity. Also, if it's work clothing, I donate all of that to charities that focus on outfitting women for work.

Caveat: IF I sold a truly special or high-end item (my Loro Piana coats, Chanel jackets, iconic Alaia pieces) - let's say a piece worth over 3K€ - then yes I would try to sell it individually, which is what I do with Hermès bags. I still use eBay and often Graild for this and would also use Vestiaire in Europe. But I rarely let these items go.

I've bought several items on Posh. I stick to brands and styles I know and ask for measurements. Some I like better than others but I haven't had a real fail yet. Most are in excellent condition. I did get one top that had a pinhole on the back but the price was low and it's not noticeable - and the color is really good for me so I'm fine with it.
I haven't sold any clothing. I listed on pair of designer jeans but they didn't sell and I decided to keep them.

All of my RTW I've put up for sale on TRR has sold, but all for a loss (which is to be expected). Usually at 40-50% off of retail. It's a heavy loss and unfortunate, but that's the reality. Also, most of my items are in excellent condition, worn 0-5 times.

However, what I sell ends up getting sold fairly quickly. And I try to sell as many items I can at once vs one or two at a time. To do this, I will hold onto items until I have at least 5 pieces and then contact TRR to come to pick them up.

I have not sold any luxury clothes in a while. I am now quite picky on what I buy, which means, hopefully, no reselling in the future.

I have not bought any pre-loved clothes before. I am interested but I am not one to buy online. When the opportunity comes, I'd rather go into a consignment store to see and try on the clothes before buying.

I used to have a local consignment store where I found some great things. sadly, it closed.

I have definitely bought second hand, but only certain items (clothes are fine since I can dry clean or wash the items, but I draw the line--no shoes.) I have had great luck buying on TRR as long as you carefully read their descriptions and know that the brand will fit you in a given size. For example, I purchased two nearly new Brunello Cucinelli sweaters, both at a quarter or less of the retail price on TRR. One still had tags on!

Selling is a different story...items below a certain threshold seem to bring very little, and if you go to sell, most people just look for bargains. I honestly donate anything below a certain tier and would leave the work of selling other mid-range items to someone else, even if it meant I netted less. Much easier.

I've bought shoes...always in new or almost new condition and styles I've worn before
