Hi, I’m very new to the B and K world. Yesterday husband spent 18k to get an offer on a Birkin. We didn’t do this on purpose, we are on our honeymoon in Bangkok and he really liked this jacket.. then next thing you know they offered us the Kelly and Birkin on the display. I went with the Birkin. Now my question is , after spending so much and built our purchase history and already have one Birkin bag, will it be easier to purchase a second one? Or do I have to spend 1:1 ratio again, especially in the US i have no relationship with an SA.
Also is it possible to buy 2 bags in 1 week? Here in Bangkok seems like that store has alot in stock, sorry if there was already a thread on this topic couldn’t find it

Barring rare, super VIP level occurrences, the general H rule is no more than one B/K every six months (generally in two semesters, Jan-June, July-December). The only way around this is to create a second profile under your name (rather than your husband’s) but then you will again be starting from scratch for purchase history. Hermes does not carry global profiles so your Bangkok purchases will not be known or helpful in the USA and you will need to either shop in Bangkok next year for your second B/K or start from scratch at a USA H store, if that is more convenient for you. Good luck (and have some fun reading around the forum. There is more info here than one could ever need!)

My SA did tell me that Hermes will be linking profiles across countries soon (she didn't say exactly when), so clients will ostensibly have one global profile. Loyalty to one store would still likely be the best way to keep getting coveted bag offers.

Since you've been offered coveted bag from first purchase, the SA would probably recognise you on further visits. I highly doubt stores in states are able to view your overseas purchase history as they are NOT linked. You will have higher chance of scoring other bags from H stores in Thailand though, as from my knowledge, clients' database are accessible ONLY within the same country.

I think trying got another bag in Thailand would be slightly harder now. The spend required would either reset or they would count this as one quota bag for this period. It never hurts to try but yes the purchase on OP’s profile would only be recorded with Hermes Thailand and none of it is shared with other countries.

Sorry, what is the 1:1 ratio and what does it mean when a purchase history is "reset" after purchasing 1 B/K.

So if I bought a B last year, my purchase history is reset and I need to spend just as much again to get my next B/K?

The OP here is posting about shopping in an Asian H store, where it is apparently somewhat common to be told by the SA that the store has X quota bag in stock and it can be sold to you, the customer, today if you just spend the same amount as the price of the bag on other non leather goods in the same transaction (1:1 spending). This is not typically how it works in other parts of the world.

Ohh got it! Thanks!

I scared for a second there haha!

so what's the equivalent of this "policy" in the states then? I never heard this 1:1 ratio or "purchase history gets a reset when you get a B/K" when I shopped in the US, and tbh I don't feel like that my SA ever applied any rules to me and my purchase?

It only applies to some stores and it seems to be only relevant in Asia.
