I'm doing research for my first Birkin.....I just bought a little something and made a friend at the Madison Ave store, my sister is going to transit through Paris soon, and I'm visiting St. Barts in a couple weeks. Yes, I'm very excited and determined! I have turned down three birkins in the past because I was an idiot. Now I am obsessed. :p

As I'm researching the birkins here, I'm noticing that there seems to be a predominance of Tosca, Mykonos, Etain, Gris Touturelle, Rubis, Iris, etc recently. And not too too many reveals or reseller inventory of the basic colors that I'm after like black and gold, and maybe Rouge Garance.

Are black, gold, or brown birkins much more rare in the spring/summer?

My SA says you can only buy 1 birkin every 6 months. Is that true?

I'm also wondering if I am offered a bright color, whether the probability is significant that I would be able to locate a black togo with GHW anytime soon? I'm going to Europe on holiday in August and plan to pop into the Nice and Monte Carlo stores then also......I'm sure there might be more birkins in the future, but I really want to buy only one black or gold one that I can wear with everything in the first year. I want to maintain some semblance of control over myself. Ahaha!

Also, is Etoupe really being discontinued? I read this on Ebay.

Thank you for taking questions from an avid Hermes amateur!
