Hi Purse Forum!!!

I'm Brianna, and I'm new here. So... here goes. I'm sooooo embarrassed and humiliated to say this, but last year I bought a fake 40cm orange Birkin in togo leather with gold hardware. It is a *fantastic* replica and was $800, however recently I've begun to feel so, incredibly guilty! I just cannot stomach the thought of carrying a knock-off any longer. At this point, I don't even want to give it away... I just want to throw it away. I'm ashamed to have supported such a horrid industry.

That said, I am currently in London until Monday and I'm *dying* for either a 40cm black Birkin in togo leather with gold hardware, or a 40cm grey Birkin in togo leather with silver hardware. It is time to replace the knock-off! I know this is a near-impossible request, as everybody wants a Birkin - let alone a specific color/leather combination - however I'd really, really appreciate anybody filling me in on what they've seen recently at Hermes in London, or if there are any shops at all in the London area that re-sell authentic Hermes products. I saw my black Birkin at Hermes San Francisco - just *SITTING THERE* in a display case - and it was only $7,000!!! :cloud9: I didn't have a relationship with a SA, but one of the male SA's still offered it to me straight away! I politely declined, and I am just kicking myself now after finding out how hard my dream bag is to come by!

Whilst many members here hate fakes, it is not uncommon for people who like birkins would first buy a fake bag and after truly realizing the beauty of the authentic one, would save up for the real thing.

Also, you must have been mistaken, 40 cm birkins in the US much much more than 7000. Unless it's another good fake.

London: the stores do not order in 40cms in large quantities, possibly 4 at most a season and all already preallocated. Your best bet is to pop over to Paris when you are in London.

Resellers price for used 40cm is about the £7k mark, and a brand new one about £8500. the only reseller in London that has a shop is salou on cheval place London. They never hold stock of brand-new 40s though.

yes, i would say it is almost impossible to find a birkin 40cm for USD 7,000 in the US no matter the specification and definitely not from a real Hermes store.

the list price for birkin 40cm in Paris is ~Euro 6420+/-.

As EdinaChu says, Birkins are pre allocated in London: ie they receive bags already ordered by clients. If a client doesnt pick up, the bag is not placed on the shelf and you d need to ask whether they have any that day. Chances are extremely low, i d say. I ve seen bags on the shelf but they were only croc or with diamonds, or non sale stock. Try Paris if you can.

Definitely try Paris- I am constantly offered 40s when I go there, and can never seem to find a 30 which is what I'm always after! Such is life, I think.
