Has anyone here had experience with polish/ shining/ repairing dents off their Cartier rings? Dropped my panthere ring the other day and it caused quite a deep dent on my bathroom floor (I was rushing). Obviously devasted since it’s a pricier ring. I know polishing takes off a layer of gold etc, and I’m ok with scratches but not dents. I tried polishing with my cloth and it obviously didn’t help much. Also very dumb of me since I dropped my serpenti ring in the same month. View attachment 6205653

I have the same ring as you so I feel your pain. My panthere is very very scratched at this point as I wear it as an everyday ring, I don’t save it for “special occasions”.

I imagine they can polish some of it out but be careful on the ear as it may change the shape of the ear which in my opinion would be worse.

I don’t think there is a way to pop it out as I look at the underside of my ring but best to call Cartier and ask them

Thank you for your response. I think I just felt so alone in despair (first world problems I know). It’s essentially my fave and so I am ok with scratches but dents caused from drops are just devastating. I dropped it once on my marble counter before and caused a slight dent on the ear, but polished it with a cloth and it was not obvious. Now I’m just upset. But I’ll go to the store to see what I can do :(

Oh no!

My take: you have to be very careful what you ask for with polish and repairs at Cartier.
They can lightly buff, or polish to different degrees. Polish will remove metal and they sometimes will not explain the differences.
So before you ask them to do anything, ask them to spell out the varying degrees of polish and buffing so you can make a choice without unnecessarily losing metal on your ring.
